While Bill Clinton's behavior is deplorable... maybe we should look at the reality that the Republicans are conducting a war on women, and in many cases (like Bill Clinton) Democrats are right there alongside them.

This is the exact reason why I have zero tolerance for the kind of crap Anthony Weiner and orhers like him pull. It's not personal behavior that's irrelevant to politics. It's consummately political and here we see it being dredged up 15 years later. No matter what you think of the charges there is absolutely zero reason to give them this ammunition.

Rand just doesn't want to be the laughingstock of Kentucky when he loses it to Hillary.

Attacking Hillary Clinton's husband for sleazy behavior twenty years ago is as annoying as attacking Rand Paul for Ron Paul's lack of oversight in regards to his newsletters twenty years ago. You would think Rand Paul would be smart enough to realize this. Rand’s campaign fell apart in 2013; its best he remain in the Senate and let Ted Cruz unite the Paul base in 2016 for the sole purpose of keeping the coalition together so we can run somebody like Amash in 2020 of 2024.

Agreed. Rand cant have Hillary carry her husband's baggage without taking on all of his father's baggage.

And to the point in question it just seems silly to deflect on current GOP positions on women's issues to "Bill Clinton banged an interned 20 years ago, so don't worry about the Republican position on abortion, birth control, etc."

I kind of want Rand to be the GOP nominee now. He is surely bound to say something sexist/misogynistic pushing Clinton to 60% of the women's vote all but assuring her the election.

Pretty much all of the potential GOP nominees are bound to say something stupid.

Lol what an idiot, Bill's approval rating is ridiculously high and he thinks Lewinsky will dent it? It also smacks of desperation if that's the worse thing he can stick to Hillary.

I think the Republicans are just jealous that the Democrats have one former president who is beloved by their party and independents and will soon have a second one when Obama leaves office; you can't underestimate the boon that is for campaigning and fundraising.

The Republicans, meanwhile, have one living former president who they want to pretend doesn't exist and was never president (GWB) and another one who they never liked that much to begin with (GHWB).

Paul made further comments on the "War on Women" on Sunday:

It's not like the anti-choice libertarian had a chance and comments like this certainly don't make his chances any better.

First Mike Huckabee and now Rand Paul -- sexist, in poor taste and foolish.  I thought Republicans were taking classes on how to talk to female voters, lol.

There is no war on women. It's just a phrase dumbs say when policies don't benefit who they want.

Paul is still at it, in a new interview with C-SPAN:

WaPo The Fix has a good blog post analyzing why Paul is going all 90s on the Clintons.

It helps in the primary.

If he doesn't bring it up in the General Election, are any swing voters going to think less of him for mentioning it in the primary? It's not as if Hillary is going to bring it up.

#3 is really the only explanation that makes sense to me. This whole line of attack is a real head-scratcher, and Rand Paul has repeatedly proven himself prone to make off-the-wall anecdotes.

Why would they nominate the guy who's a member of the Tea Party, something that Cruz is, wouldn't Priebus and Rove insist on a more Moderate candidate?
