Haha, no.  No.  I am not having another debate about what the Bible says or doesn't say about homosexuality.  Been there, done that.  And I'm especially not debating it with a guy who had jesus-is-savior.com in his signature, because I already know what will come out of that.

As I've said before, I don't care whether you guys think I'm a Christian or not.  I really don't. Cheesy

Ι assume you'd have no problem if a judge overruled the Quran.

of course not! you see,
The difference between Christianity and  Islam is that muslim is a false religion.  Disagreeing with a false religion does not equate to hating those who practice it.

The bible doesn't/shouldn't have anything to do with enforcing the laws or creating laws of the US, that would be unconstitutional under the first amendment.

Great news! Good job Indiana.

This is how the gay marriage map looks like so far:

States Wthout Same-Sex Marriage: 30 States, 54.4% of the U.S. Population
States With Same-Sex Marriage: 20 States, 45.6% of the U.S. Population

Me and plenty of other Christians not only support gay marriage, but open our churches to homosexuals, ordain them, marry them, and include them in our social and spiritual activities.

You can't call yourself a Christian and endorse something that is in direct violation of the Bible's teachings...

Every beige avatar person I've met here has had a mix of ridiculous and sometimes downright horrifying views, so I'm biased against any avatar that begins with the letter 'C.'

Silly me, I forgot SCOTUS was ruling based off the Bible and not the constitution.

I'm selfish and wanted to see a referendum on it (to lose of course) because I wanted to study the map.

Awesome news, though! The map continues to fill in!

I too would have loved to participate in the defeat of the ban (both by voting and volunteering), but I guess I'll have to leave that to my imagination. For a map, I would assume it would have looked like Obama 2008, but with more counties voting it down.

I don't think Lake would have voted it down. When Maryland voted on it, its heavily Democratic and black county, Prince George's County, voted against equal marriage, although it was fairly narrow. I suspect that equality would have lost some of Obama's ground in NWI but gained in college counties, micro-city counties like in Marion and Anderson and Fort Wayne, and picked up some solid GOP suburban Indy counties north of the city.

I disagree with the bolded statement, as Lake County is only 25% black. If you mean the percentage of voters who would have voted it down would be smaller than the percentage of people voting for Barack Obama in 2008, then yes I would agree with you. When I said "looks like Obama in 2008", I meant it simply in terms of counties rather than percentages. So maybe I should have been more clear on my intent?

Thus put it back blue with the other states with bans.

Has anyone showed you at minimum what the map will look like when the current appeals are through?

And if one of the rulings breaks with precedent, then there's a fast-track to the SC.

The Seventh Circuit (which also covers Illinois and Wisconsin) is expediting the appeal from Indiana.

That sounds a bit odd to only extend it to one couple. Shocked
