Ummm...

Only Peters would be wise to do this. Maybe Hagan at a stretch.

It is very important that we present a united front.  When Democrats started jumping ship in 2010, it hurt us a lot nationally, and most of them lost anyway despite it.

I'd rather have Pryor and Landrieu go down with the ship instead of Michigan, Iowa, and Kentucky slipping away from us too because of them.

I mean, if a Democrat is completely doomed, will it really matter whether Obama campaigns with them or not?

People who don't vote democrat in midterms will link them to Obama anyway. People who may vote democrat but dislike Obama already know what they are doing. Low-information Obama voters are the ones who would vote democrat if they see Obama talking about how good the named Senator or Congressperson is, but wouldn't bother to do so without a strong GOTV campaign... and Obama is an essential part of it.

Black turnout, stupid. If Landrieu, Pryor, Hagan, Peters and Nunn throw Obama under bus, black will status at home in election day.

The vulnerable Dems are NOT going to run with Obama.

Black voters need to GET A DAMN GRIP OF REALITY

That's why Schauer and Peters both should win, because it is understated.

No, spineless Dems need to get onboard the party unity train or lose alone.  Like most of them did in 2010.

What's the context of that quote? Did he volunteer it unprompted, or was there a question like "Do you think vulnerable Democrats should try to distance themselves from Obama?" Because if it's the latter, it's pretty clearly PR spin, obviously Reid shouldn't say "Yeah, Obama is toxic, I encourage everyone to run away from him!"

I'm in total agreement with Reid, all vulnerable Democrats should feature Obama in their campaigns as heavily as possible.

Senator Mark Udall of Colorado had the best answer.

Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley the night of the State of the Union, if he would welcome President Obama to campaign with him, Udall replied (paraphrasing)

I'll have to check my schedule, President Obama will have to check his schedule.

Hardly a ringing endorsement to have the President of the United States campaign with him.
