NFL owners aren't exactly the most popular people in town.  I doubt they have huge sway.

$ = sway.

Ask Ambassador Dan Rooney about sway.

Or ask any of them who have had a new stadium built recently, or soon to be built like SF and MSP.

NFL owners are often big contributors to politicians - usually state/local ones rather than federal ones as that's where the policies that impact things like getting a new stadium are decided.

Are there 60 senators from states without pro football, like Maine and Oklahoma?

Count up the red states, b33.  I count 28 states without a NFL team.

While they might not have an NFL team,  Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, and South Carolina all have pro teams in the SEC.

If the Wildcats are paying their players, they're doing an awful job of it.
