Do you guys realize that pretty much everything you listed (besides the federal reserve) is currently the case, even with a Democratic president? Bloomberg would do about as much to reduce income inequality as Mitt Romney.

Yes, both Johnson and Bloomberg would do nothing to address income inequality (except make it worse) and both would gut entitlements, Johnson because of ideology and Bloomberg because of moderate heroism and being a Very Serious Person.

On the other hand, at least Johnson wouldn't try to tell me whether or not I can buy a soda as if I'm a five year old child. Plus Bloomberg would obviously be another shill for the NSA/MIC/neocons, at least Johnson could potentially mix that up a bit.

This is why I voted for Johnson, not the soda cup size limit (calling it a "ban" is disingenuous). I am actually completely undecided on that issue.

Now that I think about it though, Bloomberg would actually be much better overall. Good thing this wasn't the actual election.

On a line of thought similar to IceSpear's, we are going to have a capitalist in the White House either way. At least with Johnson we don't need to worry about his more awful proposals getting far in Congress, whereas with Bloomberg we would get the sort of overbearing rubbish the federal level of government is already quite comfortable passing along in the name of health and safety.

Though Johnson obviously has many awful stances, Michael Bloomberg does have a few of his own beyond the soft drink controversy. He backs strict gun control measures, forced labour in prisons, a cell phone ban for schools, opposes all forms of protectionism in trade, believes taxes should be cut and government streamlined whenever possible and openly expresses a view that the civil liberties and privacy of Americans need to be reined in to better pursue national security interests.

I honestly can only see Bloomberg as the more attractive candidate if TEA party affiliates control both the House and Senate to such an extent as to make Gary's economic plans politically viable.

I would probably find some random fringe protest candidate to vote for. If forced to actually chose one or the other I have absolutely no idea.

Ralph Nader Tongue

LOL, not a great fan of Bloomberg, but he would be better than "privatize-the-WH" Gary Johnson. I appreciate libertarian positions on Drugs, Social Issues and Abortion, but the rest of it worries me a LOT.
