Statement from the Chairman

Thank you to all who have signed in - a great start to the convention! Smiley

After some consideration, we will not be voting on bylaw/platform changes until AFTER the election. I have several changes I would like to make and do not want to rush through it.

That being said, we have now entered the phase before the Presidential and Senatorial primaries.

Presidential Primary:
ahduke99/Matt from VT
Reaganfan/Spiral

Mideast Senatorial Primary:
JCL
DC al Fine

If any other candidate would like to seek the Federalist nomination for either seat, please speak now (Note: Endorsement votes on other races will occur after the party primaries).

As it currently stands, the primary is set to begin on the 8th. Would the candidates like to push that date forward?

Push them forward meaning start the primary sooner? Do I need to grandstand and make a speech?
Yes and it's up to the candidates, but a speech would be encouraged.

Yes and it's up to the candidates, but a speech would be encouraged.

I am indifferent on the dates. I don't know if 4 more days will change anything. If Naso is okay with moving the dates up to this week, I say we go for it.

I don't see the necessity to change the dates of the convention during the convention, but I am also indifferent.
The dates were never set in stone, as I stated at the start of the convention. And we aren't changing the dates of the convention, as it has already started. Just the dates of the primary.

After consideration, voting will begin this Thursday at approximately noon ET. The vote will last for 72 hours.

Candidates, now is your opportunity to address the convention.

Hopefully it won't get missed since it is in the middle of the vote, but I wanted to announce that DEVIN has been appointed Regional Chair of the Pacific! Smiley

A special thanks to everyone who turned out. In a close vote, Duke/Matt and DC Al Fine have won their respective primaries. All candidates ran strong campaigns, and many valid reasons were brought forth on why each should win. But now is is essential that we unite as a party for the upcoming elections!

We are sorry to see you go.

Call it a power trip (Tongue), but unless applicants step forward, I will be leaving the positions of Vice Chairman and Secretary vacant until after the elections, in which leadership elections will take place.

Duke/Matt, DC Al Fine, and North Carolina Yankee are the endorsed candidates for President/Vice President, Mideast Senate Seat, and IDS Senate Seat.

At this point, we will be holding endorsement votes on the Pacific, Midwest, and Northeast Senate seats. At this point, I open the floor to candidates in those regions interested in our endorsement.

The Midwest, IDS, Northeast, and Pacific have regional elections this month. Unfortunately, the elections will soon begin in the IDS and Pacific so we won't be holding endorsement votes, though regional chairs shall still be tasked with GOTV efforts there. I will be conducting the vote on Midwest elections - I encourage Midwesterners and Northeasterners interested in seeking the Federalist endorsement to speak.

It might be an overkill, but could I have he endorsement to get back into the legislature?
All party members receive the party's endorsement in regional elections. Smiley

With no other candidates stepping forward, we will proceed to an endorsement vote on the Mideast Senate seat.

Midwest Senate Seat:
[ ] TNF (Labor)
[ ] Lumine (Progressive Union)

The vote shall last for 72 hours.

If the intent of the Vice President was to be humorous, it sure fell flat.

The vote has now ended - congratulations to Lumine on winning the Federalist Party endorsement! Smiley

At this time, I don't believe any official action is needed until after the elections when bylaws are discussed and new party leaders are voted on. That being said, due to personal events in my life, I will be resigning as Chairman of the Federalist Party, effective immediately.
