According to FIFA's Dental Impression Technology, the Suarez-case was able to be solved:

FIFA has now ordered Suarez to wear the following in the next 10 matches:

Yeah, obviously things became very hard for us the moment we got this ridiculous red card. That's a wound pretty hard to forgive. Still I think we could have done a far better job in the first 60 minutes. Too little precision, too little energy.

It was well deserved.

The Red Card for Italy was clearly way too hard for this action.

A yellow would have been ok as well.

A yellow would have been ok as well.

Marchisio had full control  after evading a challenge and then he goes right over the ball and draggs his studs down the defender's leg. That's red if you follow the rules.

There's zero doubt it was bookable, the only doubt is yellow vs red. I lean towards red because it was avoidable, regardless of whether it was protecting the ball or not. Protecting the ball but putting your studs into the other player's shin is a deliberate, injurious foul.

I have seen literally a dozen actions so far in this World Cup that were worse than Marchisio's and only got a yellow card - or nothing at all.

Yeah, but most of them weren't dumb enough to do it two metres in front of the ref.

Greece have been the most cynical and boring team of this competition. That they aren't dead last in their group is a shame. Hopefully the valiant Costa Ricans slaughter them.

I'm not the biggest fan of our national team. But yesterday, a score of 3-1 or 4-1 for Greece would have been far more just than a draw. CIV was disappointing and the real travesty was that we had to wait till the last minute to score with a (clear) penalty.

Also, Marchisio was deservedly sent off. It was the same tackle as the one Rebic did a few hours before against Mexico and Thiery Henry did against Uruguay in 2002, both of them being sent off.

I don't understand when athletes do things like this.  They KNOW there are a dozen TV cameras on them and potentially thousands of cell phones and what have you....do they think they are going to get away with it?

Think? They are far beyond thinking and incapable of controlling their inner beasts (but that behavior isn't even acceptable in kindergarten and much less at the World Cup).

You'll at least make it to the semis, if only because how relatively easy your path is.

ROFL Lavezzi just threw water at his own coach on purpose.

Reza's goal means that every team at this World Cup has scored at least one goal. When was the last time that happened?

Apparently Bosnia played a very good game against Iran, as if to underscore what a loss to the tournament their unjust elimination is. And a nice display of fair play, considering the multiple incentives they had to throw that game.

The best (worst?) part of the bite is Suarez falling to the ground afterwards as if he's been shot.
His teeth were hurting like hell.

In fairness Suarez is not like a normal sportsman.
Luis Suarez is a mentally ill person who needs to understand that he needs his head looking after (nonvoluntary therapies are worse than useless, that's why judges love them). He needs to be protected from people like Diego Lugano or Lief here.
