I'll concede that the US has genuinely impressed in this group stage and deserves to go forward (though Ghana arguably does just as much). Deserving means little in football though. I have nothing but respect for the USMNT--my rooting against them was me wanting to see the fair-weather fans who only watch during the World Cup and only when the US plays to feel some pain.

Hope that Algeria can pull out of the group stage (and beat Germany as sweet revenge for 1982 ).

Congrats USA! I've never actually managed to see them play (French TV broadcast the Ghana-Portugal one instead) but they seem to have achieved a more than honorable result against (theoretically) strong opponents. I'd have preferred Ghana to qualify, but still I'm glad to see them advance.
