The best (worst?) part of the bite is Suarez falling to the ground afterwards as if he's been shot.

In some of the pictures he appears to be holding his teeth in agony after the dive.

I had my issues with Prandelli but he is such a classy guy and rebuilt this side, giving us confidence after the 2010 disaster. Led us from the lowest point all the way to the Euro Finals in just two years when no one believed in us.

Hoping for Mancini now since Ancelotti won't leave Real Madrid yet.

Italy-haters are evil monsters who should be eliminated with fire (sane).

You played for a draw until Uruguay scored.

It's not our fault if you want to win games without attacking.

I'm not defending the way Italy played, by all means. Had we played half-decently we would have wiped you out of the picture in a few minutes. Doesn't excuse the catastrophic arbitration and Uruguayan foul play.

Italy attacked the first half. I was satisfied with the play. Immobile was a disappointment though. He and the rest of this team need to learn how to avoid being offsides so frequently. If we had capitalized on our chances early, we'd be having a difficult discussion right now. Instead, we remained tied (which was always dangerous. You had to know Uruguay would score a goal) and got bit (no pun intended) with bad calls that really put us on the back foot. Once Marchisio was sent off, you knew we would (have to) play for the draw and I had said leading up to this game that playing for a draw = loss.

Yeah, obviously things became very hard for us the moment we got this ridiculous red card. That's a wound pretty hard to forgive. Still I think we could have done a far better job in the first 60 minutes. Too little precision, too little energy.

I suppose having an Immobile player doesn't help.

It would be a shame if Greece qualified over Cote d'Ivoire.

Yeah but we need some Europeans in the knockout rounds so I'd be fine with this

Why? Greece is easily the most negative team at this Cup. Anyway, European dominance gets boring and I say this as a Spain fan.

I don't hate the Greeks and I'm at the sad point when I'm left to cheer for teams that I don't hate. I only have a few issues with Argentina so they and Colombia are the sides I'm more seriously focused on. It helps to have a few other teams to balance out the fact that disgusting teams like France, Brazil, Uruguay (a recent addition to my list. I was usually cool with them), The Netherlands and Germany can win it.

Looks like Italy wasn't ready for this World Cup. They were a bit al dente for my taste.

Poor Spain. Couldn't even hang on to win biggest choke of the tournament.

Greece have been the most cynical and boring team of this competition. That they aren't dead last in their group is a shame. Hopefully the valiant Costa Ricans slaughter them.
