The good thing is that Colombia might eliminate Uruguay and that Costa Rica may advance to the QF Cheesy Grin

Costa Rica will do what needs to be done.

The bloodbath will be enjoyable to watch, I hope.

The penalty for Greece looked suspicious, to say the least. Well, one more reason to root for Costa Rica!

7 of the 10 New World nations have qualified. Possible to get to 9/10 if Ecuador and US get in (Honduras is still technically alive, but it would take a miracle). Also it is possible that only 4 of the 16 qualified teams will be from Europe. Wouldn't that be something!

Not unrealistic to see 6 of 8 from Americas.

One complete quarter of the 2nd stage bracket is South American. That should make for some interesting continental rivalries.

He probably means that potentially we could have 6 teams from the Americas out of the 8 that compose the QFs.

Shame about CIV, would've like to seen Drogba in a knockout game. But then again, I guess I just did. Tongue

I don't understand when athletes do things like this.  They KNOW there are a dozen TV cameras on them and potentially thousands of cell phones and what have you....do they think they are going to get away with it?  Is it just heat of the moment ignorance and they don't think about the millions of people watching them?

This guy should never play organized sport again.

And he's done the biting thing before. The bite from a year ago was very well publicized. He's just a sick person and should be banned from the sport.

And that bite wasn't the first!

Someone should clatter him. Badly. Studs first. At the knee.

6 of the 8 countries that have qualified so far for the next round are Latin American. LOL.

A lot of nasty things can be transferred during a human to human bite.  If he did that on the street he would be arrested for battery.  I'm not suggesting he be arrested, but he clearly should be banned from the sport....especially since this isn't his first bite.  Children learn pretty early that biting is wrong, if this adult can't be as respectful of others as a 3 year old, he doesn't need to be on the field with other adults.

I'm not a soccer player, but I think people sometimes underestimate the emotion of a sport, especially one that involves physical contact.  I'm a super gentle, calm person, but playing pickup basketball I've gotten in a few scuffles over the years.  Granted, I've never bitten anyone.  But, when someone is kicking you or pushing you, it can make you lose your temper, especially in the heat of a competition.

Yeah, it can, but it shouldn't.  99.9% of soccer players don't bite the other players.

The Italian red was unequivocally at least a yellow, and it was right under the ref's nose. Stupid move.

The Suarez bite was... well, after his handball last time, and his bite in the EPL, this is no surprise. He's even more dirty than any of the Italians, and that's saying something.

Ideal situation going in for me was Italy losing and Suarez getting a red, looks like it'll be even better than that and he'll get banned for a couple of years. Perfect result!

...Cannibalistic. The man was hungry. Hopefully Colombia will finish Uruguay off and Suárez won't dare to bite another player, in other case someone is going to call Timochenko and that scares a bit.
