If anyone wants to watch the game with actual German commentary:

Link
"Diese Sendung steht Ihnen aus rechtlichen Gründen leider nicht zu Verfügung."
Wonder what lawful reasons are these exactly? Being in the wrong country?
Yes. ARD doesn't have rights to broadcast the game to Bulgaria.

But apparently it does have the right to broadcast in Austria. The ORF must be very understanding...

It's working here and not in Bulgaria ?

Strange.

The amount of substitutions seems rather high in these last few games.

What a pathetic performance from Belgium. And more constant ref-aided cynicism from a South American team. Dreadful.

Ok, first time since 1990 that we reached the SF of the world cup.

We still play very uninspired football, I suppose Netherlands will crush us

No, I found this a very boring match, I found myself wandering around the room doing something else at times.

Team Argentina now.

This is the first time when Brazil and Argentina are in the Semi finals of the same World Cup.

No. Nor is Tender linking to the original website. No idea on the details on when and where these illegal or semilegal cracked streams work and when they don't.

It's sad how much this World Cup went downhill after the group stages.

This is what generally happens these days. All teams have too good defenses and are too afraid to lose. But I still think that is cup is better than the one in 2006 and 2010.

They always do. In a sense the World Cup is pretty much over after the last 16 round, and all that remains is the tedious and unsexy business of determining a titlebearer.

France 98 was fun after the groups though.

Even though three of the Semi finalists (already counting the Dutch as going through) are disgusting, I love how, like usual, the Joke teams have been weeded out when it matters the most. Despite the obvious disappointment in Group D, the referees and Colombia exiting, I have really enjoyed the tournament. It's obviously 1000x better than that disaster in 2010.

I don't like Argentina much either, but calling them disgusting is overdoing it a tad... Wink

Does Phil consider every non-Italian national side in Europe to be "disgusting"?

Belgium were awful, alas. Terrible game. I believe that's the last of early afternoon kickoffs though, thank god.

I hope whoever wins Netherlands vs Costa Rica wins. The Quarter Finals have turned into South Africa 2010 (although there were a lot of signs of that in the last 16), alas. As Lewis pointed out not surprising...

No. I actually root for England in competitions when Italy are out. I just happened to correctly believe that Germany, Spain, Portugal, France and The Netherlands are putrid.
