If the US holds up their lead against Portugal, then the US will advance, and Germany probably will get the other spot with Ghana having a very slight chance.

6 of the 8 countries that have qualified so far for the next round are Latin American. LOL.

It's funny that England's only non loss was Costa Rica's only non win.

Julio Cesar not being sent off was insane, yeah. Half the Brazilians should be suspended for the semifinal, but hopefully without Thiago Silva and Neymar Germany will be able to avenge the Colombians.

Then in the finals, Costa Rica will avenge the Brazilians.

Costa Rica is the Unofficial World Champions ever since they captured it from Uruguay in the Group Stage. The last World Cup, the Netherlands had the title the whole World Cup until they lost the final to Spain.

Well, 538 screwed this one up. They had a 65-68% chance of a Brazil win even taking into account that they're missing their 2 star players. I think being favored 2-1 implies that you won't be completely and utterly demolished like what just happened to Brazil.

Time for some Algeria appreciation given the contrast.

Ghana got their 1 point from tying Germany, LOL.

FIFA are going to have to work pretty hard now to call this for Brazil.  There's still a minute and a half left though.

They might want to add a few days of stoppage time.

So, a new day and Germany is still ahead 7-1 ?

Which means I did not take drugs or something last night ...

Imagine if the game hadn't stopped. It'd probably be like 75-8 now.

Brazilians were unhappy enough before this game.

I can't believe I forgot to pull people up on Italy being the only nation with 4 stars before, but anyway...

Anyway, kickoff! It's 5am here, and I have a cup of team and a warm blanket. Hoping for a good match Smiley

Germany is the only country with 3 cups, but that's about to change one way or the other.
