It appears the Virginia Democrats will nominate Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam (D) as their nominee for the governorship in succeeding McAuliffe. All of this assuming State Attorney General Mark Herring (D) stays put and seek reelection.

For the Republicans, former Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling (R), former RNC Chairman Ed Gilespie (R), Mark Obenshain (R) and maybe former U.S. Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA).

Folks, who else do y'all see seeking the governorship on both sides for 2017.

Another question is whether the General Assembly approves the 2-term bill to allow future Virginia governors to succeed themselves

I think Rigell or Comstock's more likely. Tom Davis is way too old.

Right. And we know approximately nothing for the presidential race yet besides speculative match-up polls. Speculation is boredom at its finest Tongue
