He's basically made arguments along the lines of "People who are stupid deserve to be scammed of their money" or "People who are easy to disenfranchise by tightening voting laws don't deserve to vote anyway". And not as a subtle implication, he basically out and out says that. Now imagine a lawyer actually defending those activities against a lawsuit in court using such arguments as blatantly as he does...

No; neither of those examples are inherently illogical.  It's the people on here who can't understand logic who would be worse.  Not saying he'd be good, but he wouldn't be the worst.  (I mean, a brief from t_host1 probably wouldn't make any sense.)

Imagine a lawyer in court saying essentially "Your Honor, what my client is accused of would only scam and fool stupid people, and therefore it's ridiculous to consider it his fault and this lawsuit/charges need to be thrown out." Because that's basically what his defense of the NRCC's misleading advertisements is. Whether it's illogical or not doesn't matter because as far as the law goes it's complete garbage.

I didn't say he'd be good; I simply said he wouldn't be the worst.  A bad policy argument is still better than a wholly illogical argument.

Wouldn't be the worst by far.

In fact, with his apparently defunct moral compass, he'd be quite good taking money from particularly "problematic" clients.

He'd be a pretty good chairman of the South Carolina GOP.

I wish you wouldn't remind me that I knew that guy in real life. Never knew he was like that. Ugh.
