Dave Weigel highlights this bit from Rand Paul:

As Weigel notes, this is part of a larger trend within the younger generation of GOP politicos, who no longer see much advantage in running "law and order" campaigns, as the GOP of the 70s and 80s did.  Ted Cruz also voted for the Smarter Sentencing Act in committee last week, which would slash the lengthy mandatory minimum sentences for drug crimes, while older Republicans on the committee voted against it.

Should be interesting to see how this plays out in 2016, given how the issue was played on a smaller scale in 2012: http://news.yahoo.com/romney-santorum-square-off-over-felons-voting-154543584.html

Younger Republicans like drugs.

What else is new?

"Younger" in this context means GOP politicians under age 55.  Tongue

This really isn't too surprising. His father holds the same position.

In b4 Lief calls Rand Paul a crazy anarchist and praises the Obama Administration's heroic stand against medicinal cannabis dispensaries.

I honestly can't tell whether Lief is trolling or not sometimes.
