Hey guys, I am still alive and well.  Right now I'm back in school, which is an interesting story.  I go to school online, and I was supposed to get my degree in December.  2 days before this was supposed to happen, they informed me that I had to re-take one course, because I had received a C- and they couldn't graduate me with that.  A C would have been ok, but a C- wasn't.  I tried to argue the point with them (my GPA is over 3.5, including the one bad grade) but rules are rules I guess, so I'm back in class.  Plus working fulltime, which is a combination I have not done in the past.  I'm just trying to get through this one last (boring) class (again), and on May 6 I will FINALLY have my MBA.

Just checking in to let you all know I'm still around.  Once this is over, I'll be around more often.

Cheers,
Jim (Fritz)

I just had an interview with Deloitte.  I currently work for the Feds and only have to work 40 hrs a week.  Deloitte wanted 60+ for only a few thousand more per year so I'm likely to decline.

Hey, Fritz, good to see an old favorite on here again.

Flyers, good choice - I think working for the government is usually better than working for a corporation.  Less work and more security, for just a bit less pay.

I am trying to move up within the government though.  I may go private industry later when my gov't experience means more.  The guys that interviewed me were actually ex-IRS agents that are collecting pensions and signed on for MUCH more than they were making as a GS-13.    In my case it means roughly $38,000 to about $41,000-44,000 for 20 hours more per week because professionals are exempt from OT rules.  What a ripoff.  If anything we should work towards expanding OT toward other professionals.

Okay, so I am back, yet again...those of you who may have thought I disappeared for good are sadly mistaken.  I have been trying to get a real life, but failing that, here I am again.  Smiley  I had intended to come back in June and participate in the last election, but was having some computer problems at the time.  As for me, life is good, the company I have been working for on a temporary basis finally hired me permanently in June, and I did finish off my MBA degree in May.  Still a little bitter about the breakup I went through in December, for those of you who remember that, that was pretty much the driving force behind my resigning all my posts here and getting out of here for a while.  I am intending to become active in here again, so look out!

From an Atlasian perspective, this is some of the best news the left has gotten in many months.
