An Elephant Divided
One thing people had noticed over the past months was Gingrich's continuing dissonance with the Tea Party, his main opponent was Rand Paul, who had opposed every single one of his Bills bar one, he even walked out of some sessions on Intervention in North Korea, he managed to get 18 other Senators to vote against the North Korea Bill in early February, though worse things were yet to come, at the Senate floor during hearing on the Welfare Package, Senators Paul and Lee whipped other Republicans to vote against it and vote instead for an alternate, more thorough Welfare Bill (Which also failed massively), though all the Tea Party Senators did end up voting for the Obamacare Repeal Act, but the bad blood was as boiling as ever.

The Primary focus was on the 2013 Elections, the Candidates had been Nominated, and were starting to head to fight for the control of the Seats in Virginia, New Jersey and South Carolina's 1st, Republicans had brought out all their weight against the Democrats to hold on desperately. polling was surprisingly tepid, showing a virtual tie in Virginia and New Jersey, and a Republican heavy race in South Carolina.

Who would you Prefer to be the Next Governor of Virginia?

Born To Run

PPP Polling
Do you Approve of the NSA?

Yes 30%
No 60%
Unsure/Undecided 10%

The backlash to NSA-gate had been swift and brutal,  many calling the NSA a fascist organization, some calling for Gingrich's impeachment, the reaction in the Senate was knee jerk, with many Republicans and even some Democrats (Feinstein, , Heidkampt, Carmona) defending the President, and referring to the NSA as a "Necessary Organization" but others were majorly upset, with both Senators Wyden and Paul drafting a bill stripping the NSA of some of its major powers, while only a watered down version passed, it showed that in full force, how a Presidency could be brought down by a British Journalist and a former CIA worker, Snowden's capture however, was to be proven difficult, as he had escaped to Denmark, then flew to Finland, leading the CIA on a wild goose chase, finally hiding out in a Moscow airport, Gingrich was furious, now he was back in the cycle of everything he wanted done right done wrong, but there could be one saving grace, Foreign Policy. Specifically, Syria, where a ravaging Civil War was going on, and Sec. State Lugar was sent there to negotiate a possible ceasefire, and Lugar, while travelling to Damascus, gave the President a call .........

*CLICK*

"Uh, hi there Dick"

"Fine Gingrich, I'm on my way to Assad's palace, hopefully all does go well"

"Okay, did you find any reports from the CIA regarding Snowden?"

"Nah, he's in Moscow, we're not sure where though"

"Dammit, just get Putin on the line after this"

"Fine then, sh**t! They're shooting at us!"

"What the hell?! Get out of there Dick!"

"Aw sh**t, they killed the driver, goddamit!"

"Dick?! Dick?! sh**t!"

Hours after Lugar's death in Syria, many were loathing for a war, but could that be what they would get? Gingrich was certainly thinking about it, especially after he held a press conference declaring Lugar's passing, and there were plenty of Hawks in the Senate waiting since late 2011 for the chance, at last, with Speaker Boehner's approval, he sent the bill to declare war on Syria, even if no one knew who the hell started firing that day.

Looking at the map, why do y'all have the Dems in Red and GOPers in Blue ?

Isn't supposed to be the other way around ?

So what would happen to Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) in this timeline ?

Does he go for another White House run in 2016 or run for reelection to a historic 4th term in 2014?

Well, I can't really reveal that, and he probably would not challenge Gingrich in 2016.

That means Perry doesn't seek reelection in 2014 for fear of getting punked by Abbott or wins a 4th term in the Texas Governor's Mansion.

Last time I recall, Guntaker was banned about 7 months ago. Also, it's not really that great to bump threads later than December or so Tongue that is, unless if you're the author.
