From The Land of Milk and Honey:The 2012 Republican Primaries, by George Allen

I had no idea what kept Gingrich's Campaign Running through the race, I'd have to guess it was a sense of never ending desperation and trying to beat Pataki and Romney to the Nomination, though with people who leeched votes like snakes withdrawing early made polling relatively good for the campaign, especially with split votes among the Moderate crowd (Pataki's run really helped out other candidates such as Gingrich), it was a surprise that the Former Speaker got the Nomination, considering people among his target audience, the angry bread n' butter Conservatives, were staying home and/or voting for Perry or Paul, I voted for Newt myself during the Iowa caucus, where he managed to score a solid second behind Pataki, who then danced over NH, forcing Romney to withdraw and give his backing, though it seemed that the Republicans Floridians (Even Gov. Scott!) didn't take kindly to Pataki's RINO-esque policies that were put forward, since Newt managed to close a Ten Point margin in the Sunshine State, and then the victories kept coming in, sure Paul managed to win Maine and Pataki done others in at Washington, but it was Gingrich territory now.

"Apparently there has been a battle between good, common sense policies and nostalgia, it seems that nostalgia won out in the end"-Former Senator Arlen Specter (D,PA)

"I humbly accept your nomination for Vice President of the United States!"

"I feel that our President has ignored the fatal issues that normal, average people care about, Health Care, which he has botched and even has criticisms from his own party about, and Welfare Reform, which will ensure that Americans will not be starving out on the streets!"-Mary Fallin's acceptance speech at the 2012 RNC

From Treasure:How Newt won the White House by Jon Stewart

I feel that everyone's favorite Speaker (not Really)won by attacking the President on Pocketbook issues, while staying relatively away from issues that would piss the hell out of Moderates and even "Moderates" (Jon Huntsman I'm lookin' at you), and the pick of Fallin, while reminiscent of Palin by quite a few (Woman, Conservative, from a Ruby Red State), managed to keep her cool and tied with Biden on the second debate (The Regular Debates were snooze fests, trust me), as well as the fact that the economy had a small slump in late October, overall, if this was a panel show, the judges' rate it a 2/10 at best.

Well thanks!

Though you should notice that the Democrats have a Majority in the Senate, and Gingrich lost the PV, so not a Republican "Good Time"

President Gingrich Inaugurated, Promises "Welfare and Tax Reform"
Situation Room|January 20 2013

"Today President Newton LeRoy Gingrich was inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States, in his inauguration speech he promised, quote, "A Return to good times where men earned their money and Taxes did not burden the system", end quote, so, um Cooper, what did you think of the speech?"

"I thought it was *chuckling* pretty bad Wolf, and this isn't from any political belief or anything, it was just bog standard"

"What about it was um, bog standard?"

"It's just the same old same old that we have seen in most Republican inaugurations, no special promises, just vague after vague, it was boring, and you  could even see it in the audience"
(Cuts to picture of Vice President Biden almost nodding off to sleep)

"*Chuckling*As you see there, people were excessively bored"

North Korean "Supreme Leader" Kim Jong Un had made an announcement soon after the President's inauguration, in which he stated that North Korea's intentions were to make and test a dirty bomb on the seas of Pyongyang, President Gingrich's reaction was a speech to Congress, where he called North Korea a "Bullying Dictatorship State"and called for fresh sanctions to isolate the country , and even privately instructed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to introduce the Isolation of North Korea Bill which would impose Semi-Iranesque sanctions on the Country, many Democrats in both the House and Senate Supported the bill, but Gingrich and McConnell faced opposition from Rand Paul(R,KY), who argued for isolationism and even planned to filibuster the bill as late as February, but the plan collapsed when the bill was passed with a big majority in the Senate (80-19, with Senator Paul voting against of course), and with an almost impressive majority in the House (300-145), Kim Jong Un called it "Another act of Imperialism that America has shown"

"The Welfare Package will

A. Cut spending for programs like SNAP, and boost funding for Charity and Faith Based Organisations.

B. Cut Funding for Food Stamp Programs

C. Slash Health Subsidies

and Secret Option

D. Tax Cuts for Richer Families

Clearly, this is a really bad bill, essentially the GOP's "Screw the Poor" message come true"-Anonymous Political Blogger

The bill was hemorrhaging popularity, and it showed extensively, even among any Republicans (Hell, even Christie booed it in private), and Gingrich didn't seem to care as much as everyone else, so the load of making the bill pass fell to  Veep Fallin, who just gave one impassioned speech on the Senate floor, no-one seemed impressed, even Dewhurst, who was a great fan of Gingrich and his programs, secretly remarked that "It didn't move me at all", it absolutely burned on the 6th, where the Senate Voted against it 69-31, with no Democrats voting for and a number of Moderate Republicans voting against, and absolutely flat lined in the House 350-75, the only Dem voting for was McIntyre, it was a mixed bag for the President, he won out with one measure and lost out on the next before he even gave the State of The Union-James Carville, Crash-Newt's Presidency

From Analysis of the State of the Union:2013 Edition

The President took to the stage yesterday to give the annual State of the Union in front of Vice-President Fallin and Speaker Boehner, among the special guests there was

  • Fmr. President Barack Obama
  • Gov. Nathan Deal
    Senator Dick Durbin
    Mayor Michael Bloomberg
    Businessman Ross Perot
    Rep. Gabrielle Giffords
    1996 Presidential Nominee Bob Dole

The Designated Survivor was HUD secretary Alfonso Jackson.

Let's start with Newt's policy plans, there were the normal generic things, like "Growing America", and that was it, so let's talk about the more specific stuff, he made a desperate plea to Congress to reconsider the Welfare Reform, and even a potential compromise, and he said how disappointed he was with Congress about the bill's failure, which is incredibly boneheaded considering his bill was defeated in both Houses by an aggressive majority, and that annoyed some of the audience (You could see Durbin roll his eyes), also, he called the state of Welfare "Take, Take, and Take again", having a Rand-esque view on this. Then he cited a plan for Homeland Security which would beef up the unpopular PATRIOT ACT, frankly the only Bipartisan or Popular thing he said was a plan to Cut Taxes for Middle Class families, he mentioned it reluctantly because his Welfare/Tax Cuts for Richer People thing fell flat, overall, this was a really bad SOTU, featuring only one BiPartisan compromise, and tons of moaning to Congress.

From the Democratic Response to the State of The Union, Given by Rep. Tammy Duckworth(D,IL)

"I think the Founders laid some things out pretty clear back when our country declared independence, but I will say today that President Gingrich has promised nothing like those things, saying with heavy handedness, that he will apparently want to return the botched Welfare Bill, and that will almost certainly suffer a defeat, I think this President needs to start working with the people in Congress, instead of just shoving through, I am a Veteran, and while I am glad that Secretary of Veteran's Affairs Cleland has some very good ideas, but I am disappointed with the Gingrich administration's plans, he plans to cut some funding to VCP, and I will not stand for this, also..........

February 2013:State Elections

New Jersey

While a Democratic stronghold, New Jersey became a whole lot redder when Chris Christie defeated Jon Corzine back in 2009, but it seems now that Christie's hopes may be dashed of Re-Election chances as there are spreading rumors that Tea Partier and former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan challenging him for the Nomination, and well known New Jersey Fmr Governor Richard Codey the likely frontrunner for the nomination, and who has been either drawing even or losing by a slim margin to the Governor, but the question people are asking is, will Christie's normally aggressive and brash behavior be his downfall?

New Jersey Democratic Primary Polling for February 2013

Former Governor Richard Codey 47%
State Senator Barbera Buono 30%
Speaker Sheila Oliver 19%
Aide Troy Webster 4%

New Jersey Republican Primary Polling for February 2013

Governor Chris Christie 70%
Former Mayor Steve Lonegan 30%%

Virginia

As Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell's term draws to a close, it seems that the Republicans have been polled to hang on to the Commonwealth yet, with big name former Senator George Allen running to McDonnell's right, and the frontrunner, but Allen seems to be receiving some backwash from Tea Partier Ken Cuccinelli and from his own clique with Lieutenant Governor Bolling challenging him, it seems though that Allen will win big, as he has been polled to beat Democratic Candidates by a Five Point Margin, the Democrat's lack of big names has not helped, with only House of Delegates Minority Leader Ward Armstrong, Mayor of Alexandria William Euille, and Representative Bobby Scott duking it out, but will Allen's Bush connections and famous "Macaca" Gaffe be his downfall?

Virginia Democratic Primary Polling for February 2013

Representative Bobby Scott 29%
House of Delegates Minority Leader Ward Armstrong 26%
Mayor William Euille 24%
State Senator Chip Peterson 21%

Virginia Republican Primary Polling for February 2013

Former Senator George Allen 40%
Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli 37%
Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling 23%

South Carolina

Now this is a real shocker people, the fight for South Carolina's First District as things start to boil up in the GOP primary, Representative Tim Scott was appointed to succeed Jim DeMint in the Senate after DeMint retired to head the Heritage Foundation, and what has happened recently is shocking, Former Governor Mark Sanford was attempting to make a run apparently for the District he represented for many years before becoming Governor, but his wife Jenny Sanford has apparently stepped into the ring and seemed to be leading her husband by ten points up in January, forcing Mark to withdraw and currently leaving Jenny as the front runner, and the first woman to be nominated by the Republican Party for this district, and she seems to  be leaving all her challengers in the dust.

South Carolina Republican Primary Polling for February 2013

Former First Lady of South Carolina Jenny Sanford 44%
Businessman Carrol Campbell III 16%
State Senator Larry Grooms 13%
State Senator Paul Thurmond 13%
Representative Andy Patrick 9%
Deputy Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security Jonathan Hoffman 5%

South Carolina Democratic Primary Polling for February 2013

Representative Wendell Gilliard 70%
Former Aide Ben Frasier 20%
Teacher Bobby Rose 10%

February 23 2013:Steve King announces his intention to challenge incumbent John Boehner for the Speakership at a Tea Party PAC, her announcement is warmly received by the audience, who start shouting "King! King!", Boehner's large unpopularity and resistance to the more radical Tea Party might see him lose his job.

February 26 2013:A slew of Tea Party Politicians and pretty damn close to Tea Party Politicians like Jim DeMint, Mike Lee, Michele Bachmann, Kelly Ayotte, and even House Minority leader Eric Cantor endorse Steve King over John Boehner for the speakership, they say that they want "True Change from the Boring Politics we have seen, Over and Over", though Boehner finds comfort in the fact that the administration endorsed him over Bachmann.

February 29 2013:A New PPP poll is released, documenting King's challenge against Boehner, though a disclaimer is released, clarifying that the poll is likely not to reverberate in the final result, considering that King has to campaign for a year and a half in order to build up speed to beat Boehner.

Who would you vote for if the Speakership contest was held today?

John Boehner 50%
Steve King 20%
Undecided 30%

March 2 2013:House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi lambasts the Republicans for being deeply divided on the Daily Show, remarking "For the sane Republicans, it's either the Devil You Know, the Devil you Don't Know, and that's it"

March 5 2013:President Gingrich reveals to Congress his plan to repeal Obamacare, entitled the "Obamacare Repeal Act" Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown vows to fillibuster the bill.

March 10 2013:Senator Sherrod Brown(D,OH) begins his  6 Hour long filibuster of the ORA, or the Obamacare Repeal Act, during the filibuster, he points out that while he disagrees with the core bill, he thinks that the US should provide responsible Health Care to citizens, and outlines why a progressive Health Care system is best, while the speech draws extreme Republicans away, a few Moderates (Collins, Snowe, Murkowski, Portman, Graham, McCain, Kirk) were swayed to vote for the bill.

March 10 2013:The Repeal Obamacare Act is defeated in the Senate 61-39 with only Joe Manchin the Democrat voting for, it won in the House 225-215, though when second balloting opens up to resolve the situation, both the Senate (63-37) and the House (226-219) voted against it this time around.

March 14 2013:Former Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius applauds the houses of Congress voting against the ROA, calling it a "Victory for Science and Medical Care in the US" on an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer

March 17 2013:President Newt Gingrich appears on Hannity, defending his policies and practices, and bashing Congress for not being Bipartisan enough, and calls Liberal and Progressive Democrats like Brown "Spineless Tax and Spenders".

March 20 2013:Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown fires back at the President on an episode of Meet The Press, saying "We would be able to compromise, if you showed any sign of compromise"

March 23 2013:Unemployment rises to 7.2%, and the President's approval rating drops to 36%

March 24 2013:President Gingrich address the nation on the rising unemployment, saying it is apparently caused by a "Defeatist Attitude".

March 25 2013:Former Vermont Senator Jim Jeffords calls President Gingrich a "Despicable Childlike Man who Should've never been Elected President" on Meet the Press.

IMO not really, but those candidates would've lost pretty badly, since while Mitt was a decent candidate, he couldn't be tied to those Candidates, with Gingrich however, both of those Candidates are closer to him, and can be tied to the national Candidate, sort of a Scott Brown syndrome.

Small Things

The President had been tired, all of his major proposals bar one had flunked out in Both Houses of Congress, he was ridiculed by Comedians, common people, and even some major Democrats and Republicans made fun of him,and his approval ratings hovered at the low point of 39%, he didn't want this to be his legacy, just four years of stagnation, fear and Gumbo? Gingrich wanted many things, but to be the next Jimmy Carter was not one of them, he needed to get out of the rut and fast, he felt he deserved a reputation worthy of Reagen, ever since he had took office in 1979, he hungered for popularity, and that was not what he had been getting over the past few months, so he contacted Jon Huntsman, Former Governor of Utah, on advice on how to get his Policies passed, Huntsman's meeting was kept under the bridge to prevent Senate and House Democrats finding out, when Huntsman arrived on the White house Lawn, he cut straight to the chase and told the President what he thought he needed to do.....

"Hi Jon, so, what? Are you just gonna stand there?"

"Listen Newt, I got the memo, I'll just tell you what you need to get out and do and then I'll go, I don't think I want more part in this, you need to get your f***in act together"

"Uh, fine, would you mind telling me about how to get my act together?"

"Alright, first, you need to stop focusing on the gigantic things like Welfare and Repeals, when you have a responsive Congress under your belt, then leap at the big things"

"Well S***t, are you gonna tell me something I don't already know?"

"Newt, I will say this now, you have to focus on the small, insignificant things, anything that can be passed off as Bipartisan, and if you do, then Congress will slowly start having a Tin Ear to your ideas, then you can pass Welfare Reform or something like that"

"Alright fine, I was expecting this to be a bit longer than that, so let's continue, what should I do with things like Foreign Policy?................................"

Huntsman begrudgingly accepted a Position as staff adviser to Gingrich for the coming months, meanwhile, the President instructed Minority Leader McConnell to draw up a new Tax Cut Bill with Senator Joe Manchin(D,WV) to give an appearance of Bipartisanism, the bill would cut taxes for Middle Class Families by 9,000 dollars for Five Years, but many Senators voiced their opposition due to a section of the Bill which would lower Tax Rates for Richer Families, including Senator Kirsten Gillibrand(D,NY), who was quoted as saying that it gave "Rich People More and Takes that out of the Middle Class", but a number of Democrats crossed along the aisle to vote for it, and when it came to the Senate Floor, it was deadlocked 50-50, finally, Vice President Fallin cast the tie breaking vote, allowing the bill to pass, President Gingrich was starting to build it up again, and he knew it.
