Cassius and Reaganfan is about neck in neck, but Naso is a tad more established on the front.

Cassius thinks it's okay to destroy relics of other religions as a way of promoting your own, plus the whole "85% white" thing.  It doesn't get much worse than that.

What have either of those things got to do with 'nationalism' in of themselves.

The biggest irony is as someone from the UK his religion makes him a minority in some ways.

Write-in: RosettaStoned.

If you're talking about "nationalism" as just simple nostalgic flag-waving rather than a fully-formed and fully-scary ideology, I guess Naso fits the bill.

Nothing really, but that just goes to show you the depth of liberal thought on this subject (i.e. none at all).

I would vote ghost_white/mint and/or RosettaStoned because both of them actually subscribe to nationalism as a significant aspect of their overall ideology. One should be careful not to confuse patriotism with nationalism, as they are entirely different things with a lot of different factors at work. The poll seems to really be asking which poster is more of the flag-waving "my country right or wrong" patriot, rather than who is the most nationalist in an ideological sense.

Well, this thread has gone in a weird direction that I did not expect.

Let's consult the Oxford definition of the word "nationalism":
Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

Or, since this is America, Merriam-Webster:
Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

Or if we want something more highbrow, written by a political theorist rather than a lexicographer, the entry from the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy:
Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

So, yes, I use the term like that.

The idea that "nationalism" refers to a coherent abstract ideology consistent with the idea that its advocates might not think their own nation is better or more worthy of attachment than any other, but just holding that nations should just stick to their own business, not trade with each other, not make war with each other (wtf), is incredibly internet and detached from social and historical reality. It is like the use of "populist" for the non-libertarian "quadrant".

I'm not nationalist in the sense of "right-wing nationalist".

I just noticed a few years ago that many Americans thought the animals below are roaming through Austria's countryside:

When in fact these animals are:

So, I decided to educate Americans on here with a couple thousand interesting posts about Austria (and not about Australia !).

Because you are well too liked to be called a "n" word on this left-biased forum.

Not as bad as what the typical American thinks is roaming the streets of Canada. Which is sad, considering we neighbour the US.

You mean the streets of Canada aren't clogged with rabid beavers?  I guess you learn something new everyday, even if it is disappointing.  Canada doesn't seem as interesting now.

Obviously, I haven't been doing my job right. I thought I'd stepped up my "asshole" game enough in recent months, but apparently not. To paraphrase the horse from Animal Farm, "I will work harder."
