Hmm,

I will be handing in three cavalry for 6 extra reinforcements

Let's place 1 in Colorado, 2 in Arizona, 2 in Utah, and 7 in Nevada. Nevada to Idaho, then to Washington. If I take both, leave maximum amount on Idaho. Then take Wyoming, evenly distributing between the two with any advantage going to Wyoming.

Where are you planing on taking Wyoming from?  I think you mean from Idaho, but it isn't clear, and both Utah and Colorado could attack.

I figured he meant Idaho, given the trajectory of the orders.

Tmth, you didn't specify how many dice you wanted to attack WA with from ID, so I assumed it would be do-or-die three dice maximum.  That meant that you were forced to place 3 battalions in WA, leaving only 1 in ID.  Hence why I stopped the attack run there.

I've always played that you can move it to any territory you're connected to and I believe that's what the rulebpok I have at home says. But if Joe does it differently, fine.

From Page 1:

3. Tactical Move

Once you've finished your attack phase, you may perform a tactical move if you wish.  You can move as many battalions as you want from one of your states to one neighboring state (remembering to leave one battalion behind, of course).  You may only perform one tactical move each turn.

Sorry, tmth.  Sad

Trading in a couple of cards:

That should give me an extra 10 (for a total of 17 wherever I want), along with 2 each on Vermont and Minnesota.

Put all 17 on Minnesota, making it a total of 20 battalions in that state. Attack, do-or-die, MN-ND-MT-ID-OR-CA-NV. (Sorry, BK. If I succeed. Otherwise, damn you Tongue) At the end of that run, tactical move VT-NY, which should leave me with a total of 14 battalions in that state. (If I've misinterpreted anything regarding how cards work, don't attack anything, explain my mistake, and let me reconsider. But I took the time to reread the rules after tmth's mishap, so I think I'm set.)

Also, as an aside, I'll be going on a family vacation March 21-30. Internet access will exist during this time, but it may be very sporadic. I hope I won't hold up the game much, but if I do by a few days I apologize for it in advance Sad

And thanks for having the game in the first place, Joe, you're the best.

I believe that means I get 18 armies. So here we go. Please deploy as follows:

1 on Oklahoma
4 on Maryland
13 on Tennessee

Attack Oklahoma to Arkansas, do or die. Attack Maryland to Delaware, do or die. If any of these fail, stop and await further orders. If not, proceed.

Attack Tennessee to Virginia to West Virginia to Kentucky to Indiana to Illinois to Missouri to Iowa to Nebraska to Wyoming, do or die. If I get that far, I want the maximum number of troops in Wyoming. Either way, stop and await further orders.

Whatever I do, it’s going to be tough. Might as well see if I can make something from nothing!

How am I supposed to stay competitive with 3 reinforcements? Come on, Joe. Smiley

Well, toss all three in Arizona and hit California, then stop. Any advantage stays with California. Move 2 from Colorado to Utah.
