It's hard to argue with an NC poll conducted by PPP (they are, after all, headquartered there), but this leads me to believe the national poll is off.  Or, perhaps Clinton's improvement in the South is being offset by Republican improvement elsewhere.

The national PPP poll is already two weeks old, Christie has gotten much higher negatives since then. The first post-scandal reactions were Republicans rallying around him and independents being sceptical to the whole news story. Now there's no doubt anymore among independents that he's guilty and even Republicans have started to somewhat distance themselves from him (and not only Ken Cuccinelli). Hillary would for sure do tremendously better if they polled again nationally today. Although their previous poll probably was an outlier.

On average, polls have Hillary doing 8% better nationally than in North Carolina. That is up from 6% with Obama. Thus so far, North Carolina has not shown itself to be a strong Hillary state.

Comparing to their November (pre-Bridgegate) poll, Christie has dropped 6 (going from ahead to behind). Also interestingly, Paul deficit has been reduced by 6

Clinton v   Nov Feb (change)
Bush        -4    -4    (-)
Christie    +3    -3   (-6)
Paul        -9    -3    (+6)
Huck        NA    -5   NA
Cruz        -12    NA  NA

PPP's strength are state-level polls... remember the national polls they did for DailyKos last year? Talk about cross-tab bombs.
