As a former supporter of Maduro, I find this thread hilarious. Maduro is such a joke that he needs to be replaced by a more serious person if the PSUV wants to keep winning election after election (I think Cabello would be a decent option).

Cabello is the most radical member of chavismo. If he takes power, prepare for a real authoritarian state with the army taking control. His ideas are also disgusting and he openly attacked Capriles in the campaign for "being a f@gg0t". He also has good relations with the boliburgueses, the corrupt new aristocracy of Venezuela.

Things seem to be very nasty. Government goons are barging into residential neighborhoods and homes, apparently. Nobody pays any attention - unlike Ukraine, Venezuela will not a WWIII start, - but it is getting very bad.

I'd rather not be misinformed by such an obvious piece of propaganda.  That isn't to say that the opposition is lily white, but frankly the idea that the government has nothing to gain from the violence is ludicrous.  It can use and is using the violence to distract from and explain away the abominable economic situation that the Chavistas are largely responsible for.

Blatant fascist propaganda, compounding lies and baseless statements that are asserted as self-evident truth. If this is common in your circles, then, I guess, Venezuelan situation is restoring fascism to its pre-Mussolini place on the international left.

I particularly liked the media being with the opposition. That in a country, where you can´t even get paper to print your news without the government´s explicit authorization.

Venezuela has cut ties with Panama, accusing them being an American '"lackey", which is completely ridiculous of course... At least Chavez managed to sound sane.
