Several dead, including a couple killed by pro-government militia (FTR I don't support any of the violence on either side) and one member of said militia killed by the fascists (proof that these are anything but "peaceful protests" and probably part of another coup plan).

I'm sure Obama has something to do with it just like Bush did 12 years ago; he wants that oil, and the Western media will surely portray these as peaceful, idealistic democratic protesters, which is a blatant lie.

The militia started firing into the crowd. Of course they're going to retaliate. Condemning them for killing one of the vigilantes is like condemning someone for shooting a guy to prevent him from killing his family...

The militias are trying to stop a fascist coup.

Dude Snowstalker, your "Dear Leader" shtick isn't funny. Besides, the right-wingers are far to the left of America's right-wingers. They're certainly not fascist.

Not really true; Venezuela before Chavez (and the Venezuelan right now) went between awful fascists and awful neoliberals; the protesters are just tools of the military and corrupt opposition politicians just like the Thai right. Some of the protesters are also tepid social democrats/liberals who will inevitably support the military dictatorship when it comes around.

And Deus, the difference is that one group is trying to replace a socialist democracy with a neoliberal dictatorship while the other is fighting for freedom.

Your gimmick is a joke, and disgusting to be quite honest.

So is the coming military dictatorship that whores itself out to American and European investors.

Snowstalker, what evidence do you have that the protesters are fascists?

Why would the fascists need to start an uprising in Venezuela? They have been in power for the last 15 years. Against whom would they be rebelling?

Venezuela has clearly been a democracy for the past 15 years except for a couple days of fascist dictatorship in 2002. Chavez's attempts to amend the constitution to extend his own power were rejected and he fully accepted the results.

In any case, all the information available suggests an attack of pro-government vigilantes on a peaceful opposition demonstration.

Which is why the demonstrators shot back? This is obviously the precursor to another coup, and if not that then it clearly disproves the veil of "peaceful protest against teh evul socialists!!!!1!"

The rest of your propaganda isn't worth responding to of course.

Could fascists be any less worse than the current regime?

Corruption will continue, elections will become less free (if they are held at all), and the mass privatization/welfare cuts will lead to the return of extreme poverty in the country and the nation's upper crust becoming more powerful than ever, so...

Venezuela doesn't deal with extreme poverty now?

It's been sharply reduced across the continent, but moreso in Venezuela than in anywhere else.

Panama is pretty plainly a US client state, though cutting diplomatic ties is dumb.
