Well, written by my religious beliefs, workers should be able not to work on Sunday!

I support this. Although, I believe that government services should still remain open.

To say that workers will still work in cases in which public safety might be compromised is rather vague. Surely, closing the Midwest's government every Sunday would be endangering public safety because of all the services and duties it performs for the people. So I propose amending it so that the government remains open on Sundays:

Well, no opposition, Arturo Belano's amendment is adopted!

And don't forget it's an amendment!
I ask unanimous consent for calling a vote.

I'd also propose amending the bill to protect the sabbath rest rights and responsibilities for adherents of the Jewish and other faiths. However I'm from the region to your east so one of your legislators will have to propose such.

The only problem I can potential see with this proposal is that the courts might view it as a violation of separation of church and state, on account of specifically setting aside days for rest based upon one particular religion. Now that's not to say I oppose this bill (I don't) but I would recommend perhaps something more along these lines, in order to help you guys avoid potential legal wrangling:

I think this works better because it doesn't single out Sundays and thus, single out Christianity as the only religion that would benefit from such a move. It also guarantees at least one day off of work, which will probably in some fashion create jobs in companies which have relied heavily on forcing a few workers to work overtime on a regular basis.

Thanks for your concern TNF but this amendment has passed the Alping, so Lumine has to open a thread, so we, members of the Althing, can't make an amendment right now, maybe for the future.
----
However, I fail to see how the court might see it as a violation of the church of state. This bill hasn't made a single reference to Christianity or other religions. In France, Church and state are separated but "Sunday rest" is a worker's right, and this is written in the Constitution!

But you have raised a good question, so this amendment may be rewritten in the future, but not soon! And thank you for participating to the Althing's debates!
