Jerry's a gay too? What would Nikki Haley say?

Also yeah,  this bill and  CountryClassSF.
Nikki Haley only gave me a back rub, just like I said.  Can't a man get a back rub in his dream?

Even if such a bill did pass, it would be impossible to enforce because it's impossible to know what your patrons sexuality is if they come in to your business.

Many gays choose to flaunt their sexuality (it annoys me when they do, but I understand it's a free country), but perhaps a bill like this would encourage more of a global Don't ask Don't tell policy for everybody.

From a purely constitutional point of view, I don't see how this bill would violate any provisions because there's no federal protection against sexual preference

Just How does this so called f****t "flaunting" manifest itself that you find so annoying?  By just saying their gay, acting naturally but effeminately (some gays are effeminate, and some not at all), wearing tight jeans, advocating for equal rights for gays, or what? FWIW, nobody but nobody has given me a hard time over being gay ever, but then they perhaps might sense that I can give as good as I get and then some, or something. In fact, nobody has given me a hard time for being at once gay and a Pub, I guess realizing that I have my reasons, which are other than being "self hating" etc.

By the way, are you "comfortable" with your sexuality if I may ask? Thanks.

I am amazed, just amazed, that this clearly unconstitutional exercise in legislative bigotry actually passed. And they know its unconstitutional. It is just an exercise in homo-bashing. Pathetic! Sad

I'm more amazed that people like you and Inks can't bring themselves to concede that the Republican party has been overtaken by nuts, morons and sociopaths.
Joe Biden was absolutely right in what he said today.

Torie, this is the Republican Party for you.  Maybe not in your particular community, but I don't think there's any doubt that over 50% of Republicans nationwide would support this law.

Now that [EDIT] SCOTUS a federal court has overturned VA's gay marriage ban, I think it's fairly safe to say that there aren't any gay marriage bans on the books in any state that could withstand a federal lawsuit.

Conservatives know this and are in full-blown panic mode throwing Jello at the wall indiscriminately and figuring maybe there's a small chance some will stick. At this rate, I'm waiting for a legislator in Oklahoma or Alabama to introduce a bill replicating Uganda's kill-the-gays law or Nigeria's mandatory jail time for gays.

This happend last night, when literally nobody was paying attention. She immediately stayed her decision, pending appeal. Then MacAuliffe and the Attorney General were like, "Nah brah, we ain't defendin' this".

SCOTUS hasn't overturned anything yet. A federal district court struck down Virginia's ban but stayed the decision pending appeal. It remains to be seen who will have standing to appeal. The two county clerks who defended it in trial might. If nobody has standing, then gay marriages will begin in Virginia very soon. That's a huge victory for sure, but we're still two years away from the big SCOTUS decision.

But your general point is right. The state-level bans are dropping like flies in the district courts, and it's only a matter of time before we get some broader Circuit Court rulings. Conservatives are in panic mode, and that is where the impetus for this ridiculous law came from.

That and OK wanting to ban all marriage if gay people can be part of it... "You can't have gay marriage if there's no marriage!!!"

It's total panic stations - how long before we get Governors standing in doorways?

I think that is very likely.  I just pray it's not Mississippi's governor this time...

I'd expect a blatantly unconstitutional law like this to be struck down quickly. If it somehow reaches SCOTUS, Justice Kennedy will not be pleased. I could even see the Chief Justice strike this law down based on his work on Romer v. Evans.

This bill won't necessitate any federal action as it's thankfully been stopped.

Difference is they packed the courts, so basically 99% of laws that doesn't conform to a lib worldview gets tossed now.

The UN observers were shocked to learn the US doesn't have a voter ID law.
