From my mum's side.

She was 87 years old and in the recent 10 years she has been at the retirement home because she needed a lot of care.

But she didn't wake up anymore today in the morning. At least she had a nice death.

That means all my grandparents are now dead, those from my father's side already a long time ago in the 1980s before I was born. It's the 3rd death in my family now within 7 years, with my granddad from my mother's side in 2007, my dad in 2012 and now my grandmother.

I still remember her quite clearly from her days before she had to move to the retirement home about 10 years ago. We'd always visit her at home and she was always making these hand-made slippers for home, the "Pinzgauer Doggln" - something that very few people these days can still make:



But in recent years, her health became worse and worse and she had to spend basically the whole time in bed, had only 40 kg anymore and needed feeding by the care personnel.

Even though it hurts, my mum, my uncles and we knew that the time would come and wished for a quick death ...
