What I mean by "underrated" is...

*Under paid
*Large workload
*Large amount of responsiblity
*Lack of perks
*Not appreciated as much as it should be...
*etc....

I'd say mayor.  Absolutely nobody cares about mayors, but they can have a big impact on the city they're mayor of.

Well, that's the way it's like here, at least.  I don't know of anyone around here who really cares about municipal politics, although it may be different somewhere else, I dunno.

That's how it is in the U.S. for the most part. I do not even know who the mayor of my city is, to be totally honest. Except in large cities, it's basically a non-issue.

State senators are probably most underrated.

I have one so underrated it didn't even make your poll!  Federal Reserve Chairman!  After that, Circuit Court Judge.

From your poll, Governor.  More important than Senator, less media coverage.

State Auditor. They have to go through mountains of paper work every day, and they make a little over what a city mayor would make.
