In what comes as little to no surprise, Qatar, The United Arab Emirates and Eygpt have banned the release of "Noah" in their Countries, citing a contradiction with Islam... Other Middle Eastern Nations are Expected to follow.


I'm actually curious to see if Israel lets the film air... It contradicts Judaism to an extreme degree as well.

I think Penn / Teller had something on this episode from the Bible - it was a story that had to do with a flood, and it turns out that there was a guy who commandeered a barge, and that might have become the basis for the story, although I'm not 100% certain that it was Noah. Penn / Teller debunked the whole Bible. So it could have been some other story.

Hah, I actually did see it in theaters last night. Thought it was beautiful and very well made (basically all the flashback/story sequences were stunning, and I loved the visual of the angels falling to earth and melting into the mud and stone of the Earth), but it had some pretty severe pacing issues and ended up being a lot shallower than I expect from an Aronofsky film.
