I commend him repeatedly trying to get a Portman or Kirk swing vote over in the unemployment column to get to the 60 vote threshold, but I would really insist that he nukes the filibuster altogether so that Senate Dems can pass what they need to pass because the majority I think will stay after 2014 and even then if it didn't, McConnell would implement the nuclear option anyway.

My opinion of him has wavered over the years, but I'll definitely give him an FF rating right now. He's been a pretty good leader overall (especially considering what he's had to work with), but finally triggering the nuclear option was a move so great it overrides almost all of the bad. If he can get more judicial nominees confirmed, my opinion will only go up. If Democrats retain the Senate this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him stay on until at least the 2018 midterms. If Democrats keep control of the Presidency and win the House back, I could see him nuking the filibuster in its entirety (especially if it's a Democratic trifecta elected in 2016).
