Are there any Presidents who anticipated the rise of a young political figure to being President? For example I remember hearing that FDR, after meeting Lyndon Johnson, said that he (LBJ) would probably be President one day. Are there any similar incidences where a sitting Presider foresaw a much younger politician becoming President, and were right about it?

I'd like to know which presidents met a sitting president when they were young and not involved in politics yet.

Clinton met JFK as a young man.

George W. Bush obviously did due to his father's political positions and George H. W. Bush likely did for the same reason.

Did Obama? Did Reagan?

Richard Nixon's father always would brag about how President William McKinley once complimented him on his horse, or something.

After that,  Mr. Nixon was a lifelong Republican.

I've heard of that, and I wonder what was going through President Cleveland's head...

In many ways the Presidency is a thankless burden, especially back in the days when a large part of the civil service was still handed out as patronage and the US was not yet an imperial power.

I don't think Bourbon Democrats would be fans of the New Deal.

But seriously, he was probably having a rough day, and thought he'd be give some useful career advice.

this would be an example if sixty thousand Ohio swing voters went the other way in 2004

Bush wrote in his autobiography that his grandpa (Prescott Bush) introduced him to Lyndon Johnson, circa 1958.
