Well, at least the Radicals will be second this time. That's better than we usually do.

If enough people vote to elect a Radical/Manifester President, and post their support on this thread, I will individually and profusely thank all of them.

The Radicals are gaining! Just three more votes and we can win this thing (assuming Dallas voted for Tilden)!

Already voted; I'm excited that we've gotten this far; we've never been second place before, and so close to winning!

In the world of this timeline, this will definitely energize the Radical partisans.

It's been three days, right? So the poll is over?

It has. I suppose we non-Unionists will be forced to drown our sorrows in drink.

If we had the Whig vote, we would've won. Ah well, there's always 1880.

Water for much of the Radical Party, I assume? Tongue

There is bitter intraparty fighting over the issue.

That's actually a bitter issue in the real-life Utah Democratic Party, I kid you not.

But yes, water for us Mormon Radicals, sir!

Wait, what? Do some Utah Democrats want to ban coffee/alcohol at their party events?

Well, they don't want to ban it, but the Democrats who are Mormons (more than you'd think) are weirded out by the Utah Dems holding events at bars/restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages/coffee shops, etc. They're especially weirded out by the "Drinking Liberally" events.

"Drinking Liberally" is a party-sanctioned event? We're missing out in New York.

Yep, it's an event where Dems come to socialize, drink, donate cash to the party, etc. It's very low-level and cheap, nothing like those $5000 dinners. But the idea of going to a bar is weird to many Mormon Dems.
