If Dawkins holds on (up 200 votes with 3 precincts to go), they won't pick up any in the Senate, aside from the 1 we've known about for months due to redistricting.

How so?

We knew the Democrats were going to lose badly statewide.

Yeah, but 68-31? Black people are 37% of the state population. To have any less than 35% of the vote as a Democrat is just an absolute failure.

Hood is up 55-45 with 942/1811 precincts in.

Not sure whether the remaining precincts lean R or D, but considering our luck tonight, probably R.

Eh Gray wasn't even running a campaign. The guy is a truck driver who didn't even vote for himself in the primary. Polls showed Bryant winning by this margin. I'm not entirely surprised.

Dawkins wins by 600 votes. The Dems won't lose any senate seats.

Probably won't gain any either, unless Joseph Thomas can make up 400 votes on Buck Clarke with 9 precincts to go.

"Yes" should net 20,000 or more votes in Hinds county. Maybe more like 25,000. Yes doesn't have to win Rankin/Madison/Jackson, it just needs to be close. Mid-40s or better.

AP hasn't called it but with Hinds and the some of the Delta still out there's really no way Hood could lose the lead at this point.
