Attorney General - General
1406 of 1811 Precincts Reporting - 78%
Name   Party   Votes   Vote %
Hood, Jim (i)   Dem   276,292   56% WINNER
Hurst, Mike   GOP   217,756   44%

Hood is just amazing. Bryant wins >65% of the vote, and he still wins comfortably.

Extrapolating from the remaining precincts, about 650k votes will be cast in MS this year. Compare that to ~880k in 2011. What a joke.

Amazing that Democrats did so well with such terrible turnout.

In the Central District Transportation Commissioner, Mary Coleman might knock off Dick Hall, assuming she nets more in Hinds than he does in Rankin.

That would be the biggest office an African-American has ever won in Mississippi.

By the way, Mike Tagert doesn't seem to have been weakened at all by losing his MS-01 bid earlier this year. He's won re-election as Northern Transportation Commissioner by 30 points.

Hinds starting to come in. We'll know if 42 is dead or still fighting momentarily.

Twitter says that Hinds went 71-29 for "Yes." Will depend on how many total votes there are. In 2011, there were nearly 70,000 votes in Hinds County, so if that repeats, it will be 49,659-20,283. That would almost close the gap.

42 lost big in Rankin County. It's over. I'm heartbroken. We stay #50, and it's because we chose to be.

You can't help people who won't help themselves.  Same goes for whoever loses their insurance next year in KY.

I think KY will have to wait until the Republicans take the KY House, probably next year.

Mississippi voters showed tonight that they could care less about corruption or education. Stacey Pickering re-elected, 42 fails, Jackson County incumbent supervisors win etc.

How is it looking in the legislature?  Will the GOP win over 70 seats in the House?  How many seats are they projected to gain in the Senate?
