Hood is up 55-45 with 942/1811 precincts in.

Not sure whether the remaining precincts lean R or D, but considering our luck tonight, probably R.

Both of those Dearing/Sojourner precincts are in Pike County, expect to GOP to win that.

3817 votes so far in 11 precincts, meaning approx. 587 more if trends continue. 65% of 587 is 382, so not looking good for Dearing.

So 42 only needs 40% to pass? How about 42A?

In the Central District Transportation Commissioner, Mary Coleman might knock off Dick Hall, assuming she nets more in Hinds than he does in Rankin.

That would be the biggest office an American-American has ever won in Mississippi.

Wink

But good news anyway!

So the straw-drawing is confirmed, but apparently, the loser is allowed to challenge the result of it in front of the state House, which basically means that the House can vote to elect Tullos even if he loses. So he's basically already won.

Holy f**k, Bob Dearing won that race? I stopped following it on election night with two precincts left and had assumed they both went for Sojourner.

Anyway, how do y'all expect these results challenges (Eaton/Tullos & Dearing/Sojourner) to go?

I'm hearing from #sources that Eaton will switch parties if the House seats him.

but we tried so hard...

Anyway, Bob Dearing has been confirmed as the winner of his election. Smiley
