Summary of political beliefs

Social Policy:
Abortion: Legal on demand, but do everything to promote birth control so that there is actual teen pregnancy
Same Sex Marriage: Federal legalization. We shouldn't be running our society on a book.
Drugs: Legalize marijuana. I see many functioning members of society who smoke, and it's really not that bad. Don't punish them because some sh*thead gets behind a car.
Stem Cell Research: Fund it.
Death Penalty: Abolish it.
Gun control: I only go as far as background checks, and even then it took a crazy guy being a mile away from me to fully embrace them.
Affirmative Action: Status quo.
Prostitution: Legalize/regulate. I don't see it as demoralizing at all.
Euthanasia: Legalize, as long as they're cleared by a psych.

Economic Issues:
Minimum Wage: $15 and a union.
Welfare: Around the poverty line, but below the minimum wage.
Right-to-Work: Horrible.
Taxation: The rich can afford high taxes.
Healthcare: Single-payer, with a ban on for-profit healthcare. Obamacare does not go far enough.
Social Security: Keep out of the corporation's hands.
Trade: Fundamentally unequal.                   
Education: Free college education for those above a 3.0 in high school. Encourage vo-tech schools, do not fund religious schools of any kind.
Balanced Budget Amendment: No.


Foreign Policy and National Security
Afghanistan: Supported initially, but should have left a while ago.
Iraq: Never should have entered. Was the result of a former oil baron using the US Army as his personal mercenaries to further his own personal wealth.
Iran: Encourage good relations.
Syria: Stay out. Let NATO decide.
Cuba: Normalize relations.
Military Spending: Cut back on nonessentials.
PATRIOT Act: A blatant violation of our constitutional rights.
NSA Spying: Same as PATRIOT Act.
Palestine: Stay out.
Israel: Stay out.
Immigration: Provide a path to citizenship for nonviolent immigrants. We're America, goddamnit. Pass a DREAM Act, and give families citizenship.
Guantanamo Bay: Should be shut down.

Environment
Climate Change: We're hastening it.
Green Energy: Obvious yes.
Keystone XL Pipeline: Why bear the risks of Canadian oil being exported to other countries?

Electoral Reform
Electoral College: Undemocratic.
Gerrymandering: Make it illegal.
Term limits: Undemocratic.
Voter ID: Undemocratic.
Compulsory Voting: Not really big on this.
Voter Registration: Voter registration should be compulsory, though.
Statehood: DC should become a state. No taxation without representation. Puerto Rico should be allowed to decide whether to become their own country or not. Allow the Pacific Territories to become states if they want to as well.
