All that out-of-state Tea Party that poured in to Mississippi was for nothing!!! Hahaha!!

Hopefully it will help Landrieu and Pryor at least that Republicans blew money here instead of there.

This actually saves them money in the long run, since Chris McDaniel would've been a disaster as a general election candidate.

I really hope McDaniel fights this and doesn't concede tonight. There was an odd high turnout among blacks tonight and if enough of the black ballots are found ineligible for breaking state law, McDaniel could win, but that's the only way he can have a comeback. Still, I don't feel comfortable writing McDaniel off yet.

It won't get anywhere. The poll-workers had lists of people who voted in the Democratic primary already, so I doubt there are more than a few dozen lawbreakers there.

No idea why they are not calling this for Rangel

I don't know whether the AP looks at precinct-level results when making projections.  On the county level, too much of the Bronx is still out and Manhattan results have been variable, depending on location.

The tea party is officially dead. You can't win a MISSISSIPPI runoff against a moderate republican? LOL
If the tea party considers Cochran a moderate, no wonder its dead

I'm pretty sure they consider him a liberal...

Yeah, the McDaniel-types definitely throw around the "L-word" about Cochran a lot. They say he's just another Obama puppet.

The Freepers are going ballistic right now. They're angry at God because they all prayed for a McDaniel win, and they think McDaniel should either run as a write-in or campaign for Childers as revenge.

Rangel's going to improve on his 2012 performance. He leads by 6.3% now.

This is the second time in 3 years that Mississippi has shocked the nation by doing something sane at the ballot box (Personhood).

McDaniel supporters are currently being interviewed on the local news saying they'll be voting for Childers in November.

Can we now all agree that Mississippi is a massive Freedom State?

So, still the only incumbents that lost are Ralph Hall and Eric Cantor. The anti-incumbent movement isn't going to well.

I just want to take this opportunity to say, to all the doubters and haters out there who said that Mississippi was way to conservative for Thad Cochran and that GOP runoffs favor insurgent candidates,

I TOLD YOU SO.

Had this been a closed primary, Cochran would have lost. He begged black voters to save him and it worked. Cochran probably narrowly lost registered Republicans and white voters.

LOL, no.

Two incumbents is a big deal if one of them is Majority Leader.

I was wrong, but I don't think I, unlike some posters, left out the possibility of a Cochran win.

But a fun little quote:

I'm so looking forward to tomorrow night, some people are going to be very disappointed when Cochran doesn't win. McDaniel is up eight in the last poll, it's delusional to think that he isn't going to win.

Also, no, Mississippi is not an FF state just because it re-elected its Senator.

So will Mississippi introduce party registration that can't be changed during a runoff period so as to keep Democrats from messing with future Republican primaries?  That seems like an obvious revenge move for the Tea Partiers to push for.

Rangel currently at the podium at his victory party yelling out to people asking for precinct numbers and saying that they're not going to declare victory until all the votes are in.
