And TN-08 DEM goes for Bradley, who has beaten Hobson 35-33!

That's all the results for tonight, but Tracy will probably take TN-04 to the courts due to the extremely small DesJarlais margin of victory that definitely merits a recount.

Next up is Hawaii on the 9th! Hoping David Ige can actually unseat Abercrombie!

I think Carr had a strong performance, considering he was outspent 5-1 and wasn't really thought of as a high quality candidate.

Good showing by Carr, I thought Alexander would do much better.

Yep, I was expecting something like 57-32. The fact that Carr broke 40 is astonishing, as well as his performance in Alexander's home turf in SE TN.

Once again Tennessee Dems have nominated the "wrong" candidate in a low information primary. Charles Brown did no campaigning, his Facebook page contains no information and misspells his first name.

There's ample evidence from just this cycle - let alone others - to prove that the TN Dem electorate is unarguably the stupidest electorate in the nation, even when compared to Dem parties in other states with just as much and more disorganization. I can't think of a time in the past 6 years when they haven't picked the wrong candidate.

Chrles V. "Charlie" Brown for Governor, with all 42 of his likes (the same percentage of the vote that he got)

Tennessee Dems nominate flat tax idiot for Senate. This has to be one of the worst party organizations in the nation.

What's worse: the Tennessee Dems nominating Charlie Brown for Governor, or "None of the Above" beating all the Democrat choices in Nevada?

How can someone with only 42 Facebook likes and who doesn't even have a website become the Democratic nominee for TN Governor ?

Turnout also dropped in TN:

23% vs. 29% in 2010 and 2006.

His name was first on the ballot. You'd think the primary voters would have learned their lesson from the disaster last time, but apparently not.

At least the party officials managed to keep Clayton off this time.

The AP updated this morning at 11: Jim Tracy now leads Scott DesJarlais, 34,653-34,651.

Not even sure what to say.

It reverted. This article reported the 2-vote Tracy lead before it was updated ( http://atr.rollcall.com/scott-desjarlais-chuck-fleischmann-tennessee-primary/?dcz= ) as well. Tracy briefly led again today at midday.

So who all will be staying up with me to see how election night unfolds in Hawaii?

I'll be around, at least for the first hour or two.

If I remember correctly, results are released directly from the state board of elections in batches.  The Honolulu TV stations keep reporters in their office and often get the results first, around the time the AP and Hawaii election officials post them on the web.  So watching the live feed at HawaiiNewsNow.com, khon2.com or kitv.com is usually helpful.

What I don't remember is if the preliminary results were broken down by precinct.  If they are and are in a digestible format, I have the 2012 data to compare with the 2012 Hirono-Case race, to the extent that the precincts didn't change between elections (which they often do in Hawaii).

I'll be around for 2-3 hours after the polls close.

Hopefully Hawaii is fast when it comes to counting votes.

As fast as a island state can be.

And Cinyc, I'm going to be primarily on KITV's live feed. They tend to be the fastest at getting the results.

According to Hawaii's chief election official on Hawaii News Now, the first election results printout is supposed to be released around 6:45PM (12:45AM Eastern).  It is expected to include 100% of the early walk-in vote and 60% of the absentee mail-in vote.  NO absentee or early vote results will be released from the two precincts on the Big Island where the election was postponed.

Early walk-in turnout is up this year by 15%.  27,000 walk-in early votes.  Election day turnout is lower in one precinct on Oahu (Farrington High School), about half of normal.

The following persons' nominations were won uncontested:

Les Chang (IND. LT. Gov.)
Cynthia Marlin (LIB. LT. Gov.)
Tulsi Gabbard (D, HI-02)

Honestly. Hawaii closed at 11 EST in 2012, why did it go back to its 2010 poll closing time?

Polls closed at 6PM local time in both elections.  But Hawaii doesn't follow Daylight Savings Time.  So, in the summer, it is 6 hours behind the East Coast, not 5 hours.
