Yeah... that scares me with the Senate.

And we may see a repeat of 2012, where the Democrats got more votes, yet not a majority.

Meh. Not really interested in today's primaries. Looking forward to August 9th, though.

So who all will be staying up with me to see how election night unfolds in Hawaii?

Hopefully Hawaii is fast when it comes to counting votes.

As fast as a island state can be.

And Cinyc, I'm going to be primarily on KITV's live feed. They tend to be the fastest at getting the results.

Honestly. Hawaii closed at 11 EST in 2012, why did it go back to its 2010 poll closing time?

Polls closed at 6PM local time in both elections.  But Hawaii doesn't follow Daylight Savings Time.  So, in the summer, it is 6 hours behind the East Coast, not 5 hours.

Ok, Abandon ship everyone....for 47 minutes.

I recommend you get the beverage of your choice for tonight. I did.

Yeah, Hawaii is "unique" that way. It'll be a late night because of the print out system.

Civil Beat says first printout won't come in until 7PM Hawaii time (1 AM eastern).

KITV is saying that now, too.

Civil Beat says first printout won't come in until 7PM Hawaii time (1 AM eastern).

Hawaii News Now, interviewing the chief Hawaiian election official, says it might come as early as 6:45PM.  As I said earlier, traditionally, it should include 100% of the walk-in early vote and 60% or so of the mail-in absentee vote - minus the two precincts where the election was postponed.  They're not even releasing the early or absentee vote for those precincts.
How big are the two precincts in which voting was extended?

They have a couple thousand votes. I can't remember the exact numbers.

Getting someone on KHON would be fantastic.

The Schatz campaign is fired up it seems. This is going to be a very large first printout, larger in vote counts than in 2012. Ought to give us a good picture of the race.

We'll have to see how the second printout turns out. Hopefully it is out at 2:00 AM EST.

KITV is saying that the second printout will be released at 8:00 PM (2:00 AM EST). It won't be alot of votes, but the third printout, which will be bigger, will be released at 9:00 PM (3:00 AM EST).

Nothing seems to have changed much in the second printout. We'll have to wait till the third printout for anything substantial.

Dem. Lt. Gov. goes for Tsutshi, 54-36 over Hee at 13% in!

I really thought that race would be closer.

Schatz and Hanabusa are one vote apart.
