It's kind of tongue in cheek, but I feel that the type of people I'm referring to tend to express their opinions in a far less ridiculous way and of course this sort of thing long pre-dates Tumblr. It might help though that they for the most part sincerely care unlike so many of the people on there and constantly changing 20RP12.

Very easy to mock but it should be remembered that many, many other ways of looking at politics have similarly absurd presuppositions that go unnoticed because we're more used to them. That 'socially conservative/fiscally conservative' question about Ukraine and our subsequent mockery of it as a community serve as a good recent reminder of this.
