I can't understand why a majority here think human cloning is immoral. I can understand having strict regulations, but not a complete ban. In others, no cloning of an entire human being for the purposes of experimentation. However, I do not see the immorality in an individual or a couple choosing to raise a clone (either or themselves or perhaps a deceased child). For all intents and purposes, a clone is essentially an identical sibling. The DNA is identical, but nurture and environment ensure that each person is an actual unique individual. If I wanted to have myself cloned, how exactly would that be immoral? So long as full human clones have all the rights of personhood, I see absolutely no issue.

Whether or not a number of these things are immoral depends on the surrounding circumstances. Is your family going hungry while you gamble with their food money? Does the medical testing that you're performing on an animal have the potential to save its species from extinction? Was the animal whose fur you're wearing killed after it had been stripped of its valuables?

In the end, I think that every single thing on this list can be done in a way that's at least morally neutral, so I say "None".

EDIT: In other words, what anvi said Tongue

Give me one good reason why you believe this.

Straight men everywhere refuse to put their peckers up another man's backside, if given the opportunity. I'd argue that an overwhelming number of straight men think male homosexuality is morally-wrong.

The problems begin when people refuse to accept the possibility of homosexual orientation, and they try to make society live according to their narrow-minded views.

I'm sure a lot of straight men think it's gross. But gross doesn't equal immoral...

Glad to see you support the collapse of civil society. Wouldn't be surprised to find you approving of stealing or arson.

I would find stealing fire to be immoral, especially from a cave man.

But what if it's to spread the warmth? Think about those poor, cold cavemen without the luxury of fire!

Medical testing on animals, with very few exceptions.
Death penalty, with no exceptions, although if a prisoner was sentenced to genuine life, and asked for the DP, I'd allow it.
Scientific cloning, both animals and humans.
Gambling, or at least, gambling as an industry.

You're assuming that morality is more than a knee-jerk reaction. Dubious assumption in this day and age.

 Abortion - often wrong
 Death penalty - not wrong
 Doctor-assisted suicide - not wrong
Sex before marriage - not wrong
 Divorce - not wrong
 Polygamy - not wrong
Pornography - not inherently wrong, but the porn industry is awful
Birth control - not wrong but i think most women don't fully understand what it does to their bodies
 Teenage sex - not wrong
 Homosexuality - not wrong
Gambling - stupid and shouldn't be encouraged, but not inherently wrong
Unwed birth - generally a bad idea but not inherently bad
 Stem cell research - fine
Suicide (in general) - depends very much on circumstances. in some situations like wartime suicide can actually be heroic
Medical testing animals - horrific. should be banned
Wearing clothes w/animal fur - if you have to survive
 Cloning animals - often problematic
Cloning humans - it would be fine if it wasn't for the genetic defects that keep popping up

The death penalty and medically testing animals.

I'm on the fence with gambling, so I didn't tick it.

Well,
I oppose some things or I would like them to more "regulated": Death Penalty, Doctor Assisted Suicide, Polygamy, Pornography, drugs, gambling,...
But sorry for being a moderate hero (lol), but I don't consider that "immoral". I have nothing against drugs users, I hate drugs, not drugs users. I oppose euthanasia for some reasons, but I understand that some people want to end their life.
So, NOTA.
I guess I'm one of the "prudes", but I respect other way of life, even if I can't myself do these things.

A lot of you fail to realize the existence of a process of thought that weighs various things or, can, in fact be knowingly hypocritical. I can knowingly do or want to do a number of immoral things consciously. That certainly doesn't make me a good person, but fact is that my behavior is not the ultimate determiner of what I judge to be right or wrong. Ridiculous.

I just threw up a little in my mouth, because I agree with most of what Cathcon said.  *shudder*

Just because you personally enjoy doing something doesn't make it moral.

I have to say though whoever said teenage sex is immoral just called Mary mother of Jesus a whore.  Congratulations.  The lack of scientific knowledge in America and the western world in general is amazing.  How can someone not even know that human beings evolved to initiate sexual relations in their teens?!  WTF, Atlas?!

It ties with homosexuality. Given both are evolutionary responses, I wouldn't be surprised if the same people voted for both.

I wouldn't lump teen sex in with homosexuality.    Anyone that has done even a modicum of science and history realizes without teen sex our numbers as a species would have been substantially lower.  The same cannot be said of homosexuality.

Homosexuality is something people can have debates about.  But teen sex?!  I mean how old do people think Mary was when she had Jesus?  35?
