Turkey is still looking to get into the European Union. This obviously isn't behavior a European Union member would engage in, right?

No, he wants to ban them because telephone recordings of him how he conducts shady deals and show how corrupt his administration is were leaked over YouTube recently.

Erdogan of course has an easy solution for this: Ban YouTube!

The first measure is eminently sensible. And probably the second, with regards to the comments section.

Really? I don't think too many Turks would support this.

Not even President Gul, it seems, would.

The part about the military is beyond disgusting. But very consistent with the overall opinions of the author o the comment.

He is risking to seriously alienate the Turkish diaspora in Germany and elsewhere, where he so far has enjoyed quite some support. Let's see how long it takes him to realise this - apparently, he originally thought Facebook / Youtube users, predominantly urban and younger, would anyway not vote for him.

No, making apologies for a horrible human being makes you an apologist, but I'll play.....what "fascist" coup?

Erdogan are horrible excuse for a human being, but I fail to see the military as a improvement. Much of the mess Turkey are in are caused by the earlier coup, like the 10% threshold, which have ensure that Erdogan have a majority of the seats in the Turkish parliament.

Not a single person in this thread made apologies about erdogan.
As for the coup? The hypothetical one snowstalker supports.
