From everything I've seen, Theodore Roosevelt

Nixon, for some good reasons and for some not so good reasons.

Like him or not, his early career, his rise to power, his administration, his triumphs and tragedies, his fall from grace, his post presidency, all add up to an extremely interesting study.

I agree with Jefferson, TR, and Nixon, and would also add Andrew Jackson and LBJ.

I agree with this. Kennedy and Theodore Roosevelt are also interesting.

Abraham Lincoln by far. He was a man of many layers. Also, no president had the poetic writing abilities of Lincoln. His papers are a joy to read.

The most interesting Presidents to me are the ones who straddle major coalitional or ideological shifts within their Parties without actually presiding over those shifts: so I think Wilson is more interesting than Roosevelt, say, and Nixon is more interesting than Reagan.
