Remember, there is no greater threat to Australia than the spread of unAustralianism.

January 26 marks the anniversary of British settlement, and the beginning of a gruesome, genocidal spate of activities that led to the exploitation and dispossession of indigenous people.  For the government to continue to insist on this day being anything other than a Day of Mourning for those who remain affected by these actions is a grave insult to the original stewards of the Australian continent.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

January 26 marks the anniversary of British settlement, and the beginning of my left wing rant based on no experience having never visited Australia.

Greatest country on Earth Snowflake.

I live in Australia (and have for the last 12 years).  What's your issue?  Never met an aboriginal person before?  That's the only possible justification I could see for your cringe-worthy reaction.

Acknowledging the traditional owners of the land on which you dwell is not a "left-wing rant", it is basic common decency.

Despite dullards such as yourself, Australia does have many good things to offer.  It's a shame that you can barely muster the energy to study its history despite your proclaimed fandom of it.

You dont sound Australian.

If you have lived here for 12 years and you dont like the place, there is only one question for you.

Do you like sex and flying?

I actually like and respect Australia enough to understand its history.  If I offended your precious sensibilities by not sounding enough like a boorish bogan, then I can only offer my least sincere apologies.

Let's dispel with this fiction that imperialism and colonization cannot be noble.

So I see you think the murder of natives is ok in the name of colonization and imperialism.

You said Imperialism can be noble.  Murder is always a part of imperialism.  People won't just allow you to take the lands that they inhabit away.  So yeah you did say that.

The irony is strong in this one.

Now that you've incorrectly assessed my relationship with Australia repeatedly, telling me to leave the country of my residence and gleefully sneered about deporting me to Donald Trump, all for the crude purpose of belittling the plight and suffering of aboriginals that continues to this day - are you capable of having an adult conversation about this, or are you going to continue hurling insults and mean-spirited nationalistic tripe in everyone's direction?

I never said there was anything wrong with the concept of Australia Day.  There are 364 other days in the normal calendar year where we could have this celebration that would not callously disregard its First Peoples.  I suggest May 8.  Enjoy the success of One Nation while it lasts - you are the one who is unAustralian, not me.
