To all the Koch-haters, read this excerpt from Wikipedia:

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

The Koch brothers are strongly dislike the current police system. They believe that the cops unfairly target low-income and minority's citizens, and that we incarcerate too many people. They've put a lot of effort into changing this. People tend to forget that the Koch brothers are libertarians.  I agree that the fact that they're using their wealth to buy the political system is disgusting, but they've done many good things too. Not to mention that they give so much to charity.

I never said I agree with them attacking her. I just said I'm surprised they haven't.

Your concern trolling has been duly noted.

Yeah, I'd guess at 8% (ahead of Jeb!) because the Paulite base is more loyal to him than Rand. I'd say Paulites are about 10% of the GOP electorate (I have no proof, just a guess), so I would say that fewer Paulites would peel off for Cruz like I did due to their personal loyalty.

I'm one of the roughly 20-30% of Paulites that are still with Rand and not veer off towards Cruz, though if Rand drops out before Florida, I'll vote for Cruz.
90 percent of the libertarian base still supports Rand lol
Way to admit your own irrelevance.
I don't even know what that means.
If 90% of libertarian Republicans are backing Rand, why is Rand at 2% in the polls. That means that libertarian Republicans no long exist. And seeing that Papa Paul performed moderately well in 2012, I refuse to believe that they are such a tiny sliver. Libertarians are not even close to backing Rand by 90%. Maybe 50% of them are.
Because not everyone that supported Ron was a libertarian. The libertarian base is small. That doesn't change the fact that libertarians still overwhelmingly support Rand. This is why he gets standing ovations at places like YAL and SFL which are the biggest liberty tents and encompass the movement overwhelmingly. It gets old to repeat this to people that think libertarians have randomly jumped ship and somehow Ron would magically be close to double digits right now in a diluted election.
...and hence why the liberty movement is doomed to fail. The libertarians refuse to accept that other people (social conservative types, paleocons, etc) are part of the tent too. We can build a grand coalition around Cruz that could easily last long enough for a Rand Paul or Justin Amash to take it to it's full potential, but the purism that is innate to libertarians keeps getting in the way.
Lol at it being about purism. Cruz is a flipflopping prick. You picked a terrible example. additionally, this was tried with Buchanan and many times in the 60s to 70s and always failed
And Senator Iran Letter isn't a flip-flopper?
No.
Convincing argument bro.

California:

I made two attemps for Democrats

Surprisngly enough San Francisco doesn't even come close to this, this is a Berkeley + Oakland + whatever uber D precints were left outside. Very diverse

Obama: 90.0%
McCain: 10.0%

I was actually very shocked that not only does the Los Angeles area have a bigger black population than I expected, but the heavily Hispanic areas consistently vote >90% Obama. You don't see that very often, even in Chicago and other heavily Democratic cities. Its 57% Hispanic and 37% Black, only 2% White.

94.6% Obama
5.4% McCain

And here's another monstrosity that stretches all the way across the state. The most consistently conservative areas were the white areas in the lower central valley (particularly Kern County), and then I reached up to Shasta County and co, as well as the most conservative areas of San Diego and Orange counties. It may look like some areas are trapped in, but I made sure that even if it was the smallest gap, there is a way out of these areas.

69.1% McCain
30.9% Obama

For a closer view, here's the southern part of the district:

And here's the northern part of the district:

I am, of course, for the UK leaving, even if it that might not be beneficial to my country; if one domino brick falls, all will eventually fall. This EU can't be saved. We need to base mutual cooperation on the principles of sovereignty and free trade.

Remain. Germany is about to become the economic superpower of Europe, and without Britain it doesn't have a clear counter-balance unless Turkey is allowed to join.
The "clear counterbalance" for Germany in the EU is obviously France, and it will remain that way whether Britain stays in the EU or leaves it -- even if France is, of course, in trouble when it comes to its waning relative power in relation to economic powerhouse Germany.

Common wisdom has it that of the three most important EU countries, the UK and Germany agree on economic issues, France and Germany on the process of European integration, and France and the UK on security issues. Of course this is a gross oversimplification (especially regarding security issues), but it's interesting to see what will happen without the UK. For instance, European policy might become more left-wing on the economy and on economic regulations without Britain's contribution. Also, European integration might be deepened without the UK.

The post below has enough truth in it, to make me feel a bit uncomfortable, and that is a good thing, rather than a bad thing. Smiley

I agree with you there; Trump's support comes from a bewilderment in general, and many of his supporters, while aghast at societal changes, aren't even particularly religious.  As far as the GOP goes, I completely agree with that sentiment.  It seems like the only things the GOP is able to deliver on is what many in the political/donor class want, such as more assorted tax breaks/credits and a few reforms here and there.  But they aren't even trying to reverse or undo any of the huge changes that have taken place.  A big part of that is that, despite the GOP base being quite conservative in outlook and very concerned about the nation's future, the people who write checks for the Republicans are mostly socially progressive rich people who generally (but not always) have a hawkish foreign policy.  They don't have a huge beef with Obama for the most part, and are more than happy with things as they are, so long as Republicans control the statehouses and Congress, preventing tax increases and advancing certain, specific agenda items on labor, spending, and taxes.  A corrolary is that while much of the Democratic base is quite socialist, Obama knows he can't pass an economic agenda that is too progressive without incurring wrath from upper-class moderates, so that base often gets left in the dust as well, in favor of SJW and social liberal interests.

I don't have the time to write a five page essay right now. I have to leave the Shining City on a Hill for the airport in a few minutes. So the Forum is spared my prolixity - for once! Smiley

Much Earlier

The three cops were guarding a crime scene. Atmosphere was tense, given what they just saw. Sensing this the oldest of them, Officer dead0man, a highly decorated veteran of the force who shoot to death dozens of dangerous inner city ruffians, decided to break the ice.

dead0man: Did I tell you, guys, that funny story from a month ago?
Officer Antonio: No.
dead0man: Are you sure? It was about that kid I darwined really good.
Antonio: Dude, he had a plastic gun.
dead0man: That was his problem.
Antonio: You're a bloodthirsty, power-drunk bastards, aren't you?
dead0man: How so? What about that Muslim who brought a bomb to his class?
Antonio: It wasn't a bomb. It was a damn clock.
dead0man: He should've knew better, given his kind.
Antonio: What the fyck?
dead0man: I didn't shoot him. I merely arrested him.
Antonio: Yeah, in one cell with two Aryan Brotherhood bastards.
dead0man: That shows I'm not a racist. I don't believe in segregation. Really.
Antonio: I give up arguing with you. Let's focus on the case. Nathan?
Officer Nathan: Huh?
Antonio: You're the smartest and most studies guy around. What do you think?
Nathan: Dude, I studied Japanese, not sick perverts. What am even I doing here?

Duh.

Aren't you going to avoid voting for the Democratic nominee anyway, being a socialist and all?

"Violent Socialist" (lol) is in fact a Trumpist fascist who cheers for David Duke and calls black people who disagree with him "Uncle Tom" and tell them to "go back to their cotton field".

Sure, but if I were British I'd be a British exceptionalist. The concept is nothing more than red meat to get Reaganfan all hot and bothered before an election.

FTR, this isn't a Mussolini quote. It's a motto used by the Italian army.

TIL the army of one of America's close, democratic, NATO allies is Fascist.

Lol. DW Perry calls for secession less than 10 min. in.

I cringed.

Can we all take a step back for a moment though? A former atlas poster is on a debate stage with a former 2 term governor of New Mexico. It's f***ing crazy.

I:m fine with the status quo of 18. If we do change it, it should be lowered to 16 to match legal driving age.

The answer is obvious.  It's the one where being gay is not an issue, where they don't lock people up for 25 years for simple drug possession, where freedom of speech and freedom of religion are truly understood, where women's reproductive rights can be taken for granted, etc.

Freedom isn't all about lasseiz-faire economics and guns.

Your main mistakes are:

-Making NH remotely competitive, remember the angry women.

-Trump isn't winning by nearly enough in Colorado, remember the state HATES Clinton.  Trump will get 70% easy, probably over 80%.

-Utah's going to be super close, I'd put it at lean Clinton at this point.

-Clinton will win Arkansas because of her home state effect.

-Trump will win New York because of his home state effect.

There you go.  Beautiful!
Wow, the West Wing looks great!
On a more serious note, why does AR only have 5 EVs? Faithless elector?

Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

WV flips because Hillary is white.

MS is trending hard D.

TX flips because Castro VP.

MI flips because NAFTA and dey terk ar jerbs.

MN flips because it's been trending R since 1980.

OR flips because of Bernie bros voting Trump out of spite.

Okay that's wrong.
Everybody knows that VT will flip due to disgruntled Bernie bros.
Alaska's been trending Dem, so of course it flips during this cycle.
Montana flips because it hasn't elected a Republican as Governor since 2000.
Trump picks Christie and NJ flips.

EDIT: So you're right, Smith.

It's a gun that blows bubbles. I agree with OP, except for the random swipe at Muslims later in the thread.
