The former (normal), though only the latter exists in my home county.

For me, a cracker barrel is what we'd call the spread of sausages, cheese, and ritz crackers that we had on the first night of a camping trip in Scouts. I'd always used to have so many, and I justified it as I was Senior Patrol Leader. That reminds me, I actually lost re-election in a landslide, something like 20-3. Those were the days...

Considering it's a shop, I wouldn't really eat there, but if it was a restaurant............ Yeah, still not going to eat there.

Option 1 (Italian)

Cracker Barrel (not a pretentious hipster who thinks he's above food with umph!)

The Italian restaurants that me and my family dine at are usually little hole in the wall family run joints that have mold oozing out of the walls. Far from pretentious, and the food certainly has umph!. Wink

My comment was more of a counterbalance to OP's insinuation that it was "uncivilized" to go to Cracker Barrel. I'm kind of tired of the overgeneralized hate for the South.

Cracker Barrel isn't even that Southern. Last time I went to one was near Syracuse.

he made it rich off of selling duck hunting gadgets and then the learning channel gave his family a television show, and then he said a homophobic or racist thing (don't remember) and then the American right fell in love with him

I dunno.. I guess as I'd probably pick CB. Mainly because as an Italian, I prefer my moms or my own sauce than at a restaurant.

It actually is a restaurant and a store. For me, I would choose Cracker Barrel.

This is why family never eats at Italian restaurants.

Italian restaurant only because of pizza, spaghetti, bread sticks, etc. (I'm a very picky eater). Otherwise I would go with Cracker Barrel, but apparently they have a history of discriminating against blacks and gays, so that doesn't make it very attractive.

WTF?   Really, walter?

Well, anyway, I've only know three people in my life who really loved cracker barrel, and they were all chinese-born American citizens.  Not sure if there's an interesting analysis there.  I'm okay with cracker barrel.  I have eaten there a few times.  Nothing against it.

Obviously I voted for the Italian restaurant--I guess I'd rather have a tenor belting out O Sole Mio and playing an according while I consume pork sausage than not having a guy singing O Sole Mio to me while playing an accordion while I'm eating a pork sausage;  Either way, I'm gonna eat a pork sausage, and I'm gonna enjoy it--but mainly I'm wondering what inspired this bizarre poll.
