As relatively surgical as our raids have gotten, these sorts of tragedies become more and more likely the longer we drag out our stay in Afghanistan. We should leave today.

The last Gallup poll has sending troops to Afghanistan in 2001 polling was a mistake leading 49-48. Pretty amazing considering that the vote in Congress was 534 to 1(Barbara Lee). In 2002, a Green party member was considering primarying Barbara Lee from the right for that vote.
