I'll concede that the aggregate PM Score is pretty cool. Smiley

Labor is a center-left party?  Interesting description Tongue  But in all seriousness, Simfan is right, the aggregate PM score is pretty neat.

Considering the aggregate PM score shows an exact medium between extreme left and absolute center- do you have a better way to characterize the party?

I was half-joking, but yeah.  I'd say given all of the industries that would be nationalized if the Labor platform were enacted, if your Vice-Chairman is correct, then it is a socialist party:

Nationalization of property? If we approve this we won't be the Labor Party, we'll be the Communist Party.

If it's not approved, it would just be the Liberal Party.

All due respect Xahar, but your claim simply has no basis in reality.

...Yes it does. Nationalization is what separates socialism from modern liberalism/'progressivism'.

I don't mean that as an attack nor am I looking to get in a fight over this.  I just think it is important to know what the parties represent so The People have a clear choice.  Anyway, I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll be on my way.

Labor is center-left in the context of Atlasia.

Atlasian politics =/= real life politics. In real life, literally every party aside from the Democratic-Republicans (which would be center-right) and Labor (which would be Left-wing) would be center-left. Yes, even the Federalists. Tongue

Labor is a large party with diverse viewpoints represented. If someone is Vice Chair, its because that person is a respected leader within the party, not because the rest of us want to make all of his wildest dreams come true.

This is absolutely the case. Labor is a big-tent party of the left; we have Marxists and moderates, we have Proudhonists and Progressives, we have liberals and Leninists. But at the end of the day, we are a coalition of people who want what is best for Atlasia, and we think that means a policy on the left side of the debate (however that is defined) rather than the center or the right side of the debate.

I was referring to the Labor platform rather than the fact that Senator TNF was Vice-chairman of the party.

The platform was adopted with 0 no votes and 1 abstention.

The revised version, yes.  But in any event, as I said, I'm not looking to hijack your party's committee thread.  I was merely making an observation.

To be fair, looking at this I'd place "center-left" to be within the smaller (5x5) box, and it seems most of your members are outside said box. I'm surprised the average is where it is, it would look as if it would be closer to the bottom

Something else to add to the opening post - I hold appointed office as the highest judge in the Northeast.

By the way, I've always had trouble distinguishing between left and right, even as a child. I don't understand how such a simple distinction can be so complicated. Then again, I also struggled to learn how to tie my shoes...

Rather embarrassingly, I from time to time have to do the thing where you form an "L" with your left thumb and index finger to remind me which side is which.

Griffin:
-Arturo Belano is Midwest Archduke
-And Brewer is a Most Serene Representative. Tongue

I'm happy to see The Midwest is by far the most Laborite region: all elected officials are members of our party except Crist Smiley.

To be fair, this is from some months ago. I remember averaging out the scores and that was the result. If you eyeball it (or break it down into two dimensions and separate clusters that way), it appears that the outer scores are close enough to one 0 or another (and far enough from the larger cluster) to pull the aggregates to where they're listed.

I'll offer my hat for Regional Coordinator of the Pacific.

EDIT: Oops, turns out I was stepping on some toes. I'll withdraw my name.

We'll have to see if anyone/who announces. If there's more than one interested candidate, then there'll be a quick primary.
