Complete with Third Reich banners and SS uniforms.

Ah, yes, history. I believe that's the rationale Southerners generally use for constantly reenacting and belaboring the legacy of that war they lost that one time. It's just history, y'all!

I guess racism isn't confined to the South as so many on this forum think. Even those nice, unimpeachable Minnesotans can get a little too "proud" of their "heritage."

Und Ich have ein fotograf für referenz...

This is just weird, but what's wrong with reenacting the Civil War?

Probably because Nazism is/was a far right-wing ideology.

To be honest I think they're just obsessed with historical garb.

Think of it like a fancy tea party (as in the little girl princess type with little cups and teapots)... but for boys.

I think he was trying to explain that in the article.  I knew a guy who would wear some Soviet army jacket he acquired.  He wasn't a Stalinist.  But he would have been very pleased if he were invited to a restaurant to show off his army jacket.

Poor taste. Shouldn't be done as long as any holocaust survivors or children of holocaust survivors are alive, but not something you can actually do much about. Stupid and insensitive people will always exist.

It will still be in bad taste when there are only great-grandchildren of Holocaust survivors alive.

What I find quite embarrassing is that it is a restaurant that styles its self as German...

False analogy.  The restaurant certainly would have been within its rights to discriminate against the Nazi party and refused to allow it to be held there.

Boys will be boys.

I have an East German army uniform.  I acquired it when East and West Germany unified.  They were selling them cheap.  Grenztruppen der DDR in green armband.  Dark grey wool.  Long boots.

Got me a cracker jack US Navy Uniform as well.  That one is from the Army/Navy store.  I wear that one for halloween from time to time.  Sailors are very sexy.

One of the greatest consequences of free speech is that WE GET TO POINT THESE PEOPLE OUT AND AVOID/HUMILIATE THEM!!!

Never should there be any talk of telling these "history buffs" to shut down their party.

I meant the Minnesota restaurant would have have been within rights to discriminate and refuse to allow to hold the Nazi party there because it was offensive to them.  But since I believe Oklahoma does not include sexual orientation in its local version of Title II of the CRA (if Oklahoma even has a local version) then no, the Oklahoma restauranteur that wished to not serve gays wasn't breaking the law, tho in some jurisdictions he would have.  After all, discrimination is bad except when it is good.

Depends on the sailor.
