For fun... Lets say, only women were allowed to run in 2008.  Who would you support and vote for and why?

Either Elizabeth Dole, Kay Bailey Hutchinson or Condeleeza Rice.

These are all women with serious experience in at least some key areas, and with views that I find compatible.

I could also tolerate Whitman and maybe Snowe, but they are from the left side of the Republican party, and would have a tough time getting the nomination.  They are also a little liberal for me.  I also like Laura Bush, but she's not a politician and has never held office, so I didn't include her on my list.

As always, I limited myself to Republicans.  Some of the Democrats would be more tolerable than others, with Hillary Clinton being the least tolerable of all.

Diane Feinstein is my favorite- she is getting up in years though. I voted Linbcoln, but Landrieu or Sebelius would be good too. Hillary if she gets the nomination, but not a minute before.

I love pretty much all the Democrat women, but I chose Landrieu because she's not afraid to take on any issue against any Republican.  Did you see that debate on the judicial nomination of Janice Rodgers Brown?  She laid Orrin Hatch out.  It was great.

And I would vote for every woman on that list, excluding Liz Dole, Hutchison, and Rice.  That's 8/11.
And on the last post I forgot to say that it's very close between Landrieu and Lincoln, but Landrieu wins out in the end--for me anyway.

When she voted with the Senators from Hawaii to drill ANWR last week (RC #52, Cantwell Amdt., No. 168), did that constitute "taking on" any issue, or is that more of a "meeting halfway" approach? Wink

A lot of oil money in Louisiana, isn't there? I don't blame her one bit.

I knew that, and I didn't say she was the most liberal.  When I said "any issue", I meant any issue on which she disagreed with Republicans.  My wording was a bit misleading.

How is it that Hillary leads the pack, yet no one will admit voting for her?     Sounds like the Spice Girls phenomenon.
