Two or three funny bits out of a whole bunch of posturing. Horrifying.

I don't know when to laugh without a laugh track. How am I supposed to know what's funny?

Not sure if this directed at me, but I obviously like tons of comedies without laugh tracks (see: Arrested Development, Archer, Bob's Burgers, ect.). Portlandia is, to me, cleary not one of those.

It was directed more at the drooling simpletons who think Community is a personal insult or whatever.

I haven't seen all of it (like most or all of season 1 I think). It has bits that are good but it's not very consistent. I feel some of the jokes aren't made cleverly enough or with the right touch.

I'd still vote FF though, some of the skits are absolutely brilliant and I do enjoy making fun of hipsters.

I think it's significantly funnier if you're from the Pacific Northwest. It really captures the spirit so well.

Hit or miss, but it can hit really really well sometimes. My favourite episode was the couple with thewedding planner. Incidentally also the first episode I caught. It's hard to catch it on tv here.

Here, as in Australia?  It's on Monday nights on ABC2 at 10pm, and then repeat on Thursday night at something like 11.

Too weird for my taste generally, but once you get what they're poking fun at, I suppose it's amusing.

For the whole skit approach I always loved Dave Chappelle. A lot of his stuff was hysterical.

Really good show. It kind of has a The Kids in the Hall vibe going for it (although it isn't that great).

Also, it doesn't hurt to have this for theme music:

Oh, hell, you can find people like that in Austin, Raleigh, the SF Bay area, pretty much anywhere that the SWPL sort of White People reside in large numbers.

Sure, to an extent. I think the concentration is higher here than almost anywhere else though. And I doubt the local bits are as amusing (the ongoing Seattle-Portland rivalry, for example).

Garbage television. It's a pretty accurate satirization of the most obnoxious elements of Portland but it isn't funny. It reminds me of people who say things "lul nice glasses u hipster" and think liking Arcade Fire means you have bohemian sensibilities.

SWPL is a pretty stupid term imo. The differences between the youth culture of punk rock or grindcore devotees shares nothing in common with NPR-listeners with teenage kids. It's the equivalent of saying that there is "Black culture" or whatever.

Coffeeshop employee with gauges who goes to art school shares zero things in common with a lawyer who went to UPenn and drives a Volvo. Yet both of these people are SWPL-types because they prefer organic food, are secular and hate Republicans. A somewhat cohesive political demographic? Sure. A cultural group? No.
